Holidays

Just cancelled our trip to Edinburgh and Dundee tomorrow as my father in law ill. Been in hospital with chest and urine infections after 2 falls 10 days ago. Got discharged Tuesday and felt ill yesterday. Think it was more of a panic attack and thinking going to fall again (aged 90). So we've decided to cancel our trip which was my birthday present. Bit disappointing as the same thing happened last year and had to cancel then as well. This year had planned to visit grave of my grandfather's brother who was killed in first world war plus a trip to loch Ness, Loch Lomond and Cairngorms. Hopefully when he's little better we'll be able to rearrange and his welfare more important

Well the cruise part was fantastic, off board now and in a posh 5* hotel....in the 5*+ bit.

Hope they'll all enjoy me shouting at my phone watching the NF game at 8.30 in the morning ;)
We’re off on a cruise to the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao )next month out of Fort Lauderdale. Should have done this in 2020 but was cancelled 3 weeks before sailing because of the Pandemic.
I’ll be looking to watch the Palace game somewhere at 5.30 in the morning the day we sail.

Going Thailand in July for 18 nights. Bangkok, Krabi, and maybe Ko Samet and ko kood.
I hope you like it hot! It's showing 40c today on the car and it isn't really considered the hot season yet. It's gone up by about 5c since we arrived at the end of January. A big shower has just taken it down to 32c.

Well it seems my favourite band are bidding a final farewell to the country that first took them to heart ... And returning to the venue of the live album fame.
Two nights there and one in Osaka.

I haven't been to Japan since 1987 and my missus has never been. It'd be rude not to. Ten days in the autumn will be lovely.

I don’t like hot but I lived there for 3 years plus a year in Australia so I can cope with it

Fancy the Greek Islands with the kids (7 & 10) later this year.

We usually go all inclusive but also like somewhere with a bit of life around it, bars, restaurants etc so we can mix it up a bit rather than a hotel that you don't leave for the duration of your stay.

Any suggestions?

Of again in 2 weeks.
Fly down to Sydney for 2 nights then get on a 14 night cruise to Singapore, stopping at Cairns, Darwin, Bali, Komodo island, arrive Singapore.

Fly to Tokyo for a week, my favourite city, visit Kyoto on the bullet train, board another cruise, around Japan visiting a few coastal towns and Yokohama.
Then sail across the Pacific to Seattle.

Fly down to San Francisco for 3 nights, then fly back to Brisbane.
6 weeks all up.

That sounds amazing, Bill.

I'll bet that is costing a fair bit. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks Rob.
It's not that expensive actually, paying for all the flights with Qantas air miles earned by paying all our bills, everything with Qantas credit card.
Cruises are cheap as it's 2 repositioning cruises.

Never fancied going to Greece or any of the islands. The In-laws wanted to go away and my wife was keen to have a week with them so we went to Skiathos ( I didn't get a say, but they offered to pay for the kids!!!!!) and it was fantastic.
I’ve done Spain to death I’m in Costa Adeje presently but I found Greece and it’s wonderful
Nice climate people and food
Say it quietly but also like luz in Portugal very nice

Was just going to post that my wife has just booked Costa Adeje in August. Any advice would be welcome. We booked H10 palace without checking out the local area first. That Siam park looks good.

Been to adeje a couple of times and there again in 3 weeks.

We really like it. Not as lively as Americas in a good way but plenty of restaurants and bars.

Beach is great too, either pinta or fanabe just round the bend.

Go to El Horno De Neptuno for amazing tapas.

Siam is really good. There's also aqualand for younger kids.

I will dm you I’ve been here 30-40 times
La Caleta is very close to you that’s now the up and coming area due to a new 3/4 year old hotel gold and tennis academy etc but you’re in a decent spot where you are
