Holidays

Obviously risky this I know but I thought I would throw myself at the mercy of the bluemoon forum for suggestions for possible summer holiday destinations. We are struggling a bit as we seemingly need 2 quite conflicting things. We have 2 kids who are both in their late teens and have said they would stìll come with us if we go somewhere a bit lively where they can go out and party. That's fine but by the same token, me and the missus don't want to be in the middle of somewhere like Kavos or Las Americas! We want somewhere with a few nice restaurants/a decent hotel etc.
Somebody has suggested Palma Nova as thats the next bay up from Magaluf so close enough for them to go out there but seperate enough to be an option for us. Wondered if anyone had been there before and could confirm/deny that as a possibility, or alternatively, offer any other suggestions. Another restriction is that the wife doesn't like flying, so that rules out anything too long haul.
Plenty of lively areas in Las Americas for the oldies , not just Veronica’s
We’re off there again in March me and Mrs MB. Both in our earlyish(alright mid 50s)

Took the lad last November with us who was 20 at the time. Said he’d never go away with us again as we’re both F-in mental !!

Ibiza- They will love it!

Need plenty of dough but it’s good for all ages.

The old town is great and Bossa down the road.

Depends what you call a 'long' flight....Icelmer in Turkey? It's what you and the missus would like, it's round the bay from Marmaris which will keep your kids happy from midnight to morning!

Thank you all for your suggestions to my post of a few days ago. There were some really interesting places thrown out there (Albufeira in particular grabbed our attention as we'd never even considered Portugal as an option). Typically, eldest child has now thrown a spanner in the works by deciding they're going on holiday with friends instead so it all became irrelevant but thanks anyway!

Cracking news mate - get off to the Maldives then

Icelmer is brilliant.
Great bars and restaurants.
Nice people.
Nice beach.
Expensive though

Off to Penang for 2 weeks in Jan for a relax.
However hoping to do Chile next year, thinking late Feb /March, as my first taste of South America.
Picking Chile as it seems the safest and looks amazing , so we can get a feel for what's South America like.
Thinking of hiring a car and seeing the country that way so any tips much appreciated

Just had a few days in malta and what a thoroughly awesome place for a winter break!

So much history. Loads to do. Weather pleasant (though a tad chilly at night), last day was warm!

And a nice change that the locals actually like the brits, i got a real sense of connection between the 2 countries

5 nights in Andalusia before Christmas- Granada and Seville were absolutely superb.

Then the first class Iryo train service from Seville to Barcelona - this is the way to travel - I'll have a video on my YouTube channel in the coming weeks.

Then unfortunately, all four of us got the flu over Christmas and the holiday took a nosedive. Had to rebook the flight home to give ourselves an extra day to recover.

Definitely a holiday of two halves.

I finally have enough cash for my first foreign holiday in thirty years
Undecided where to go just want somewhere with guaranteed sunshine and high temperature
Thinking of Los Angeles (Venice Beach or Marina Del Rey) Dubai or Miami

Going Budapest in February with the Mrs - done a little research, but any recommendations?
Stay away from the Unicum.

Ruin bars are a big thing over there, but I couldn't recommend any in particular. I had a local friend, so they just brought me to stuff. You honestly can't go wrong though. So much culture and amazing buildings. The National Gallery is well worth a visit, even if just for the views. The cruise down the river was great too.

We also took a trip out to Szentendre and Visegrad to see the castle.

Venice beach is a shit hole by all accounts these days, I’d go to Dubai.

Belfast next weekend, Edinburgh in March.

During time in Edinburgh getting train to Dundee as I've found out my grandfather's brother is buried in military cemetery there. He ran away from home aged 15 to sign up for 1st World War. Joined Scottish regiment hence why buried in Dundee. Not aware of any family ever visiting his grave, I will be 63 during the trip, plan to visit grave and have a glass of whisky at graveside in his honour
