Russians?
I haven't been back since I left, so I'm going off 2nd hand information but they are one of the major factors according to people I know there. Increase in crime/traffic as well as rapidly rising prices are all other complaints I regularly hear. Maybe all related.

I'll most likely end up retiring to Thailand in a few years but it won't be Phuket.

Dubrovnik is well worth a visit hopefully when no cruise ships are docked.
We hired a car and drove to Mostar in Bosnia. It was well worth it and cheap as chips there too.
Croatia is stunning
Mostar is amazing. Had a day trip there last year along with a visit to Crevice Waterfalls.
I love old Dubrovnik town too.
A must is food at the Panorama Restaurant high up on Mount Srd. For an old school pub visit the tiny “Fat Bastard” pub. They play all rock music from the 1970s.

Trying to sort a trip to China , not as easy as I had hoped even with the introduction of the 10 day transit visa free
entrance.

I’m retired in Phuket but don’t spend all my time there. The traffic is certainly a problem to an extent any journey has to be planned to avoid the jams.
I have a beachfront condo so not too many other complaints.
The Russians are everywhere same in Bali but I don’t mix in their circles.
Lots of cold beer and tasty food!

2 weeks in Crete, Chania booked. Any good?
Very nice area, was there 18 months ago.

We stayed in Maleme about 15 miles from Chania, Chania was a bit busy even at the end of the season.

Maleme is nice enough for a bus ride, it has an RAF monument and a massive German war cemetery which was sobering and honest about the war. There's also possibly the best Greek restaurant I've eaten at in the town called The Black Lantern.

I loved my 15 years there but when I return it will be to some other part of Thailand I suspect.

On my 60th birthday holiday , 2 nights Singapore , 11 nights koh samui .
The plan was to meet the youngest daughter who lives in OZ with her boyfriend in Thailand but she surprised me by turning up in Singapore, lovely surprise .
Got into koh samui last night couple of quiet drinks and a nice relaxing day by the pool today when my eldest daughter , sister , niece make a surprise appearance . So much for a quiet chilling holiday , great surprise tho : ) .
Well you’re not going to believe this , thought my twin sister was celebrating in Jamaica , turns out I was having a pint at the swim up bar and there she was with the brother in law WTF :) , brother in law is a big blue so I’ve now got a drinking partner for the games out here .

I love Crete, people are incredibly welcoming and food is excellent.
Visited Chania a few times, some good value restaurants around the harbour. We've always stayed in Agios Nikolaos and hired a car. Some great places to visit if you hire a car and the roads are a pleasure to drive on.

Doing a road trip in Italy in July, we are starting in Venice then travelling down. the coast to Puglia then over to the Amalfi coast and fly home from Naples.
Has anyone any recommendations for hotel or agriturisimo South of Rimini?

Finding it difficult it makes my mind up

just booked 2 weeks in croatia mid august if anyone has any recommendations

Do the 5 island speedboat tour from Split. Possibly the best excursion I've ever done on any holiday. Dont be afraid of using coaches to get everywhere. They're cheap as fuck and there's fuck all traffic as the population of Croatia is fuck all. Lots of fucks there.

Avoid Dubrovnik like the plague in Summer. Go in the off season. It's an amazing place just not when it's 90 degrees and full of Americans.

It's no longer cheap for food and drink. Can get fairly pricey in places for simple food

They do trips out to Bosnia and Montenegro. Do them. Both absolutely wonderful countries.

I absolutely love Croatia last Summer was amazing especially with the football on. Oh and they love City. Lots of City shirts everywhere

Which company did you use for car hire? We’re booking a package tour with loveholidays, but I still want to hire a car and explore the island a bit. Laying on the beach and eating all day long sounds nice for a while, but it’s definitely not my idea of a perfect vacation. I love getting out and seeing the sights, visiting local attractions, and maybe even finding some hidden gems off the beaten path. A little adventure and exploring really make the trip more memorable. I’m looking for a reliable and affordable car hire company, so any recommendations would be appreciated
