Holidays

Going to the Spanish mainland end of May. 4 nts in Madrid then AVE train down to Seville. 4 nts there and finally on to Cadiz for 7 nts. First time doing this type of trip. Any advice would be appreciated Blues.
Did the train with my daughter from Barcelona to Madrid last summer. Upgraded to first class for £10. Buffet car was good.

Did it a few years ago .but will be pricey now Very interesting but you'd be better on a car trip stopping at your own pace for airboat ride, Seminole Indian village visit (alligator wrestling etc), Cape Florida etc probably in conjunction with the Florida keys - Key Largo, Marathon, Islamorada, Bahia Hondo sand beach and especially Key West are unforgettable. For Everglades - insect repellent a must.
Thanks mate

Told Mrs PJ I fancy a long haul to South Africa in 2026.
Mrs PJ “ - Isn’t it dangerous there?”
PJ -“ Well I wouldn’t go near Pretoria”
Mrs PJ “ No he is horrible that man with no legs. Shot his girlfriend dead”

Anyway, any advice on Cape Town would be good.
Cape Town and the Western Cape is fantastic mate, we normally stay in Camps Bay in an airBnB and just use Uber, tourists unless doing something extremely silly are very safe. Its fantastic value for money at the moment. We are looking at buying a property over there probably Gordans Bay.

Samui and Tao late April
Gdansk september
Khao Lak and phuket November

And hopefully a few Euro trips with Hearts and City

Just one thing to note Camps Bay for some strange reason is a dry resort when it comes to buying alcohol in shops, bars and restaurants no problem, we just used to pop in to CT and the V&A and stock up in the supermarket in the bottom level.

Saying that you will little more than a quid a bottle for beer in bars.

Because it was our 5th trip this time we didn't do much but I recommend the following

Table Mountain Obviously
Robben Island
Cape Point you can do boulders beach on the way to see the penguins
Wine lands there a great trip that you can hop on and off an old tram to visit different winery's
If there's any rugby or Cricket on then both Newlands grounds are fantastic

Oh and I wasn't kidding about Ubers they are all over the show and very cheap we have hired cars but just didn't need to due not doing much travelling to do sightseeing.

Spending few days in Vilnius - national flags on nearly every building. Buses that profess their support for Ukraine, like going back in time when you could have an opinion without fear of being labelled far right or left

Flying to Seville Friday morning. First time visiting. Any recommendations that aren't the obvious we have found on google (food/sights etc)? Going with my 5 month pregnant Mrs so nothing too strenuous ha!

PM me mate. Seville and Cadiz region is beautiful. Amazing people, good food and lots to see. Also the trains are a level above the UK and fraction of the price. You’re going to have a wonderful time

Sorry for the delay Rob.
Wow that is sooo professionally done and great to see you in the flesh so to speak.
I’ll be there two weeks today and will definitely enjoy the experience of your Top Three.

Thanks. It is very professional looking, but I'm just the ugly mug who fronts it. My eldest daughter does all of the editing and most of the scriptwriting too, so I'll pass your comments on to her.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip and hope that me bigging it up won't make it feel like a letdown :) After me banging on about how great it is, a mate from work is going a week on Thursday so there's lot of jeopardy in this for me. Let us know what you think on here when you return.

Regardless, I will stand by my comments that Seville is the crown jewel of Europe.

You've spelt Prague incorrectly yet again Rob ;-)

Bilbao and San Sebastian in the summer. Rather excited

Sweden was amazing. Absolutely fucking freezing though.
San Sebastian in beautiful

Pinxios and red wine in every little shop.
It's dangerous you just keep eating and drinking and when it comes to pay they just ask what you had! and you half stuffed!!

Enjoy
