Holidays

Off to Tunisia the day after Brentford game..can't bloody wait..nice beach, reasonable food, lovely weather( fingers crossed).
The people are very friendly and easy to get around..taxis cheap as chips.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Turkey that is suitable for families (with two girls - 15 years old) Don’t want somewhere too full on but does have family type of nightlife/atmosphere. I have never been to Turkey but heard so many good things about the country I may give it a try. Thanks.

Olu deniz or kalkan

Couldn’t agree more, just got back from Lesvos and it was exactly that, but such a relief and so relaxing.
Lesvos is our all time favourite island, been a few times and travelled around it a bit. Only ever had a week in Stoupa, but our son’s at university now so no more school holidays and we plan to have a few holidays in the Peloponnese going forward. Loved the Rick Stein series when he drove round the area,

At least 20 years since we went and when we were there, regular visitors told us how commercial it had become

Is the restauranter still on the front with the freshly roasted pig in the glass box?
I doubt the pig is still fresh if it’s spent 20 years in a glass box Dickie !!

Ovacik..midway between Fetiyhe and Olu Deniz..
Nice quiet area but easy to get to livelier spots by Dolmus

We went 8-21 Sept, so no children but it was World Women’s Festival for 2 weeks in some village. Plane, both outgoing and incoming filled with worshippers of Sappho!

Anyone been to Castelldefels, just outside Barcelona? I’m off there next week but had nowt to do with booking it, can’t say I’m inspired after looking online at the bars etc, like one does ..

We spent 5 days there in 2018. Stayed in a nice hotel along the beach. It was basically for us to chill out after mooching around Lisbon for a week. Caught a flight to Barcelona and got the train down. It's ok, nothing special. Some alright places to eat, decent beach with beach bars, lots of local posers though, or there was when we went. I'd say back in 2018 it was more like a place for the locals with a few tourists. It might be different now. I'd go back just to stay in the hotel.

Thanks for your reply mate, much appreciated
We are only going to chill out for 5 days also, so it sounds like it could be ok. We have a nice apartment sorted with a pool too..
it’s a holiday so I’m not gonna moan too much
:-)

Been over 20 years since the last time I was there - but it used to be good
