Home hi fi.

These are very well reviewed. All in one stereo solution
Bit out of my price range mate (by about a grand lol)
Thanks anyway.

We have a Samsung 40" Smart TV, Samsung sound bar and big black box, which I assume is the subwoofer. I'm not all that fussed about what everything is called, who made it, so long as it accurately outputs the TV sound. The system is about ten years old.

The problem is, the subwoofer sometimes fails to play any bass volume - almost as if there's is an intermittent loose wire connection somewhere within. It happens randomly, as we are watching TV, not changing channels or touching anything.

The wire to the subwoofer goes into the unit, not through a plug. The unit is sealed, so I can't open it and check for loose connections. It comes from the sound bar, which has its own power supply. The connection to the sound bar is good, as far as I can tell.

Can anyone help with my options please? I assume they are:

1. Fix the subwoofer. Is this possible? Cost effective? Would I need to send it off or take it somewhere? How long would it take?

2. Buy a new speaker system? Can anyone recommend a mid range one, please?

3. Should I be looking for a new, more modern system?

Many thanks in advance.

Yeah but do they go up to 11?
Thanks Rob, that's good enough for me.
Don't know. I started playing with them last night and the Mrs said they were too loud (they weren't) and if I'm sitting working here all day, I wouldn't have them blasting in my face anyway. Like I said, for the price, I don't think you could beat these - I'm sure they are loud enough for most listening tastes and if not, they're less than £130 so I'm sure they'd work as backups for a smaller room.
Same as mine, told you they were good :)
You were right, Bill. I'd had my eyes on these for a while but it was nice to hear the thoughts of somebody who has them, so thanks.

Alright folks, I'm after some advice. Does anyone know a reliable place to get an analogue amp looked at?
(Manchester local)
