Think this is from the Trafford Tinkers game vs Cardiff City in 1974 (recognise the bus station in front of Cardiff's main railway station).
There was a ton of trouble as Cardiff fans from all over the South East Wales area turned out to face the infamous Red Army.
There are several articles from Cockney Reds etc. documenting the off the field antics...

Many United fans of that vintage have nightmare:s about their trip to Villa that season. They had got used to taking the piss wherever they went but that day every firm in the Midlands turned out to take them on, a mate of mine said he was shitting himself from the moment he got off the train at New St. The police had been dragged off the hunt for Leslie Whittle and blamed the Rags they stood by and watched Utd get battered and nicked anyone who fought back. Know doubt their bullshit hoolie porn claims they took the piss but lads who where there know better

Finbar o`neill City `character`.

Was taling to a Blue in his mid 60`s and he mentioned this Irish City fan called Finbar O`neill who was a city `character` in the 60`s and early 70`s does anybody rememeber him.

Agree, he was hard as nails, but you had to keep your distance, we all knew what he was, but he was a Blue.

Paddy O`Neill I think ,not the tallest but very broad and had no fear.Lived on and off in Rusholme on Walmer Street,not sure whether it was a mate or relative he stayed with there.
Seem to remember he was friends with Johnny Muir,who lived with his parents at the Birch Villa

Too old mate, I’m talking late 60s early 70s, Tommo and his mates were a lot older than me, me and my mates tagged along. These were the best days ever The Kippax, Manchester Boot Boys establishing ourselves from 66 onwards was fukin brilliant. Especially the first Derbies from 66, the best being when we smashed the fuck out of them in the Cup at OT in 1970, beat us 3-0. We had the Stretford Benders legging it down their precious Warwick Road, believe me none of them “were walking down Warwick Road” after. Gorton then gave them a good slapping at Belle Vue dragging them off 53 buses, great days. 1970 / 71 were the yearscapped off with the ECWC semi both legs against Chelsea. Boots and braces half an inch wide, all them cockneys they died. Lol

Sorry to hear of any demise of one of OUR OWN Characters from the Kippax, we should all try to remember these guys, and this forum is a good place. Those who don't like this thread don't understand, but we do. Its good trying to piece the past together, stick together, one day we may get back together, weather we recognise one another is a different thing, especially the older ones of us, i am 63, but still feel up for it, probably have a hart attack though.

I worked with an agency driver when I was about 17 we used to dress the van up in flags n scarfs fucking brilliant fun he was a cracking fella but crazy and I know you will have heard of him this was about 1974 Dave( worthy) Worthington.

Watched "Inside Iceland:Britain's Budget Supermarket" tonight. It featured the Rochdale store having a makeover. One of the first regulars back in the store was Daft Donald. Gave a short review to the store manager as to how impressed he was with the refit. I think the cameras cut away before he asked the store manager for 10p.
