Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

I was at Goodison for that one, and it was a real battle after the game.

The buses back to Lime St were all lined up on Walton Lane, and you had to literally fight for your life to get to them!

Once you got to the pavement side, battered and bloody, you were then greeted by our friends from Merseyside Police, who had been stood there all along, letting everything happen!

We then had to rip the seats up on the bus and put them up against the windows as the bricks rained down!

A massive relief to get that train home!

Those were the days!
Blue scousers paid back in spades at Maine Rd the following Wednesday night. An Evertonian mate says it was his scariest night ever. The 80s was truly another world.

Spot on that mate!

I work with an Everton lad who was at both and he got nailed in those infamous Maine Rd backstreets!

The Fa Cup Game at Cardiff 1994 was Still for me the scariest yet
Before,During and After
No escort back to coaches
Allsorts going off
No welcome in the Hillside !!
Definitely an experience!!!
The field at the back of the Grange Stand (I think it was called ) was like a purpose built battle ground
