Great goal.
Great shout.I’m sure there was a home Derby the following season where we got 52,000 (officially). Or was it earlier that season? McKenzie scored and we won 1-0.
Edit: have just checked and it was the month before! And 50,000 (officially).
You can trace dropping into the 3rd tier right back to that appointment. He was never popular. Think he was tolerated up to bringing Big Mal back, because those were decent years. So he became widely unpopular in about 1980 I’d say. What a fucking disaster that was btw. Bringing Malcolm back. Swales should have gone for that fucking abortion alone.
Dreadful human being. In so many ways.
He did!!!@johnnytapia isn't going to like that!
Probably not. How could I forget that day ;-)Bigger than Leeds away in the Cup 77/78??
Thanks
The Jan 78 gane was my first away match. Aged 7. One not to forget.Probably not. How could I forget that day ;-)
One of our biggest turnouts…Probably not. How could I forget that day ;-)
Steve used to coach us at Platt Lane and as he lived in Withington near the Old House at Home on Burton Rd used to drop me off after training. He was my hero as a 13 yr old in the Platt Lane that goal will never be forgotten, he told me his boots split after the goal and he threw them in the bin, I was desperate for it as souvenir but too late. Had a Saab sponsored car. Haha remember them daysDidn’t he score with one of Bobby Mac’s boots?
Great goal.
Which was a bit unusual as they used to infiltrate the North Stand far more.A FEW reds sat down behind that goal when the goal went in

I think you are right
I have just been watching City v Spurs from Feb 83, a 2/2 draw on you tube and Dennis Tueart was playing.
Another interesting point they mentioned that I didn't remember was Bond had been followed by private detectives probably arranged by the club (Swales).
There were also quite a few Swales out banners even then.

Sad that their 2025 equivalents are priced out . What was it then -£1 for a junior ticket?Lot of those young lads from the 60's became characters on the Kippax
I think around 1969/70 it was around 20p I do remember in 1973 it being 25p F**King he'll I am a FOC.Sad that their 2025 equivalents are priced out . What was it then -£1 for a junior ticket?
20p didn't exist in 1969/70.I think around 1969/70 it was around 20p I do remember in 1973 it being 25p F**King he'll I am a FOC.

That’s because virtually everytime we’ve played them they’ve been their toesThe Jan 78 gane was my first away match. Aged 7. One not to forget.
I live in Leeds these days and Leeds fans say to me well we’ve always got on fairly well with City. I just smile.
