The news have been reporting the same shit for over 12 hours now..yet I can't stop watching.

That's exactly how I am! Intrigued by this, and as others has said It could end in a second with a sniper which makes me think there's still a lot we don't know.

Not long now...

Been watching some of this. Not sure why the police haven't used a sniper on him yet. They know he's a lone activist and he's a threat. Hostages have been tweeting and using social media to give commentary, so he's not that on the ball. Hostages had escaped through the back in plain sight of police, so why haven't they used that as entry and distracted him from the front window??

I don't get it.

I agree they must think he has a bomb strapped to him

The detonator could also be activated if he falls to the ground,so maybe they are concerned about putting a few bullets in him.

Obviously hope everything turns out OK but wouldn't it be just our luck if his demands include City getting an easy draw in the last 16.

HAHAHA brilliant.

looks like an easy job for a sniper......why don't they do everyone a favour and just put a bullet in the scumbags head?

Careful now, you might get accused of being Rambo or an armchair general, playing a an FPS game or watching a movie.
This is real life you know.

No indications yet as to the hostage takers motives, but Anne Aly, head of the counter terrorism research programme at Australia's Curtin University, told the BBC's Outside Source programme he is likely to be working alone. "Certainly this appears to be the actions of a lone actor, perhaps not very well prepared, perhaps not very well planned, and the indications of the demands that he's making seem very odd for a hostage taking incident where you would expect materialistic or strategic demands to be made in connection with a particular group or cause."

I understand all that, but I also think it's being overly played with caution. The man has a bag on his back and he's moving pretty freely with it. I think it means that whatever is in it is pretty lightweight. I don't think he has anything strapped to him that's live.

I think a head shot is a viable option.

Its the only option if he has a vest on, take out the cerebral cortex, stop him pressing the tit

Lol, its just a simple case of shooting him. They would be shooting through glass and that affects the accuracy of the shot. Snipers are trained no to shoot through glass unless they have a straight-on-shot and the target is close to the glass.

I meant that the detonator could be activated not manually,if he`s shot dead outright, but when falling another detonator could be attached to the bag and on impact to the floor ... or just maybe I watch to many Spooks and Homeland series.
