Houssem Aouar

I agree about Gundogan but we need to get rid this summer and bring in a younger deputy for Rodri. Gundo will turn 30 in Oct, with a 3 year contract left. Once Rodri adapts I doubt gundo will get much game time at CDM, like last season before dinho broke down in Jan

Bernardo is more comfortable/effective on the right side of midfield(so is Kevin) where he can cut in more frequently. So quite simply they both love to occupy the same space.
That's true, he's world class as the right 8 almost every time but that's KDB's position. Hopefully Bernado can transition into David's role. He definitely got the feet, vision and creativity to do so. His ball carrying skills could be very nice from the left, his delivery from the left has been good too

Pep is definitely biased toward Gundogan, it's pretty much his adopted son at this rate. Gundogan is very smart and great technically, but he has nowhere near the required intensity and physicality for the PL. Hopefully Pep realises this. Europe Gundog is a different breed, he's not suited for PL
He is one player not going anywhere while pep is at city .

yep gundogan for me plays a lot better when he’s on his own in that holding midfielder role , he was immense playing there when we won the last 14 games in a row to win the prem , watching him and Rodri together is painful tho and needs to be one or the other I agree Been suprised we didn’t see more of Bernado and kev together in midfield this season , don’t think pep likes Bernado on the left , this is where this lad from Lyon would fit in perfectly .

all great BUT

Gundogan isnt a good 6 against better teams and when expected to defend or when pressed - so against your average/lower level prem team we get away with it...against better teams he massively struggles and its no coincidence that in the majority of matches against the better teams he has been highlighted as a major weaknsess

He has contributed a whopping 2 goals and 1 asisst as an 8 this season from 21 PL games. Hopefully he plays as a 6 next season or we get rid. But Pep has a known fetish of playing him as a left 8

A "fetish", hopefully just a rumour.
Pep loves to stick to his slow ball playing midfielders, even when it doesn't seem to work. It could almost be considered self destructive behaviour at this rate if you look at some big games where he has persisted with Gundogan as an 8 and Rodri. I'm suprised we haven't seen more of a David, Gundogan and Rodri midfield. I love Pep but some decisions he makes are hard to grasp

I know it is difficult. Keep watching and learning.
Remember it took pep a while, many coaching courses, top players, loads of titles and cups, and he stresses he is still learning.

a lot of people saying get rid of gundogan need to have a look a themselves, wouldn’t have won the league without his influence, im yet to see what what rodri does

Not meant to say it in such a negative manner. But Gundo will have to compete against potentially 6 people for the CAM spot, and Pep has shown that Rodri is the first choice DM.

So is gundo willing to risk being reduced to just a squad player role? Playing mostly in the less important and easy matches, at 30 years old?

The purchase of Aouar should make our split with Gundogan a mutual decision if anything, gundo is good enough to start for a CL team.
