How are we all feeling about our club today?

I'm relieved and glad that our club pulled out but I'm deeply disappointed that they joined it in the first place. For the first time in over 40 years I felt ashamed of Manchester City. I hated feeling that way but that's how I felt. They must explain themselves in my view.. They owe us that for what they did and the stress and soul searching they caused. I hope the owners can continue the good work that they did. I hope we can then learn lessons - they must find a way of consulting fans regularly - and I'd like to see a guarantee that City will not try to break away again. I understand that's not everyone's view but the question was asked how we feel.

I thought yesterday morning that we’d essentially infiltrated the cartel and were planning to bring it down from the inside

That’s exactly how it played out

Maybe I got lucky. But the net result is the same

The cartel no longer dominate UEFA. The head of UEFA is coming out in glowing praise of City. The press is reporting that Sheikh Mansour has saved football, the cartel have lost a shit load of leverage with UEFA, and it’s likely the UK government are going to legislate football governance so United and Liverpool can’t abuse their positions and we have independent governance

All in all an absolutely monumentally positive outcome for City

We may have broken a few eggs along the way, but City are in a MILES better position today than we were last week.

Football has always been about money and always will be. Owners will come and go. I have followed City through thick and thin and we have had some truly devious owners over the years. I believe that City were railroaded into this at the last moment and made a horrific business judgement. I am sure that Soriano will fall on his sword and the circus will move on.
I think the emotional reaction from fans to what has happened is driven as much by the fall-out from Covid and the way all of us are feeling as it is by our love for our football clubs.
I also suspect that pressure from the Covid crisis (mental and financial) was a factor in the poor decision to back the ESL. It was a crazy idea for us to get involved because CFG has its own very business different model to other clubs who are just pawns in the Stock Markets.
I respect your views as a fellow City fan but in the last 48 hours some of the posts on here (not yours) have been over the top, almost wallowing in misery. I think a lot of people are fragile at the moment for understandable reasons but it's time to "get back on the horse."

Our club literally joined the cartel who labelled us 'legacy fans'. When asked about the disgust shown by fans their response was 'we don't care'.

We are Manchester City, not the owners or the current board, it's us, the fans. They had no right to try and take it from us. I won't just brush this off as a bad decision. Serious consequences are required. 100+ years of history. City has been a part of my family for 5 generations. These snake oil salesmen tried to steal something for their own personal profit and if we let them off the hook, they'll try it again. It wasn't a decision through fear, it was a decision through greed.

Enough is enough.

Yeah, maybe things will filter through slowly once the dust has settled. As I said in an earlier post we will ultimately be the ones the media will attack and blame in the end. But I believe we have a stronger ally (if you can call it that, by keeping your enemies close) in Ceferin at UEFA
Oh yes, it will all be the fault of cheating citeh.
Ceferin? Not sure he is effective, the new CL formulas certainly give advantage to the 'istree clubs. Will he have the courage to change that?

The problem is, if Bayern and PSG got signed up it probably would have succeeded and we would have had a choice of staying in the ESL to (at least) remain as we were or risk being stuck in what would likely become the second level of football. Unfortunately the club had a duty to protect the investments made and had to signal an intention to be in it, even if they fundamentally disagreed. As much as it is distasteful, we are where we are because of the investments of certain people and groups, and wilfully allowing us to lose our current status is equally mis-management, from a business perspective.

I sense that our management realised that IF Bayern, PSG, Dortmund etc didn't materialise then we had an easy route back out, hence the rumours of 'lies' being thrown around yesterday. Also, we hadn't got the full details of the plan. If the ESL took off and had provided a place by merit for a 7th English team, i.e. not much different and possibly better than the current CL, AND provided more money into the English football pyramid to replace lost PL income, then perhaps the idea had some merit - but that would only be from an English perspective, other countries were getting really shafted.

I think the management did the right thing, they kept all the options on the table.
Spot on

How do i feel? Lol

Worse than yesterday. I've always been suspect of our owners ulterior motive. Well now we know it! : (

Several post season khaldoon Al Mubarak interviews times I haven't felt at ease watching them. His body language and eye contact sincerity was questionable, and that was only by watching on TV, shifty!

The rats should sell us to someone who keeps their promises. But can we trust any potential owners?

My answer is no, unfortunately. European Football is corrupt and rotten to its pitiful core. Football is fucked, and we got in bed with the devil.

Shame on you ADUG!

I feel utterly disillusioned with City. I thought we stood for something more than greed, but I was wrong. It's good that we've corrected our decision, but the mask has slipped and I feel the hierarchy places little value on the history, tradition and legacy of our club.

I'm a fan that travels home, away and abroad supporting City. A legacy fan to coin their phrase. However my season card will be discarded and the effort I've placed into supporting our club will be put towards more fulfilling endeavours - serious changes need to be implemented, fast.
That is very sad but I don't blame you one little bit.

Full of fuckin drama queens on here, we dropped a bollock have seen that, it wasn’t ideal bit we’re all big boys, i for one am looking forward to what happens on the pitch, fuck all the politics.

Probably best not posting on here then mate this will rumble on for a while yet. I would stay away from the post match thread if we play shit tonight as well:-)

Happy, however I want something from the club, an explanation, a reason why, in my own way I've convinced myself that it was some sort of ruse, I will find positives because I'm a gullible dickhead, I want the truth and a big fuck off apology
You're better off going fishing mate, less mither and far easier waiting for a bite than an apology off our dodgy owners, mate.
