How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Twice? Wow. Your mind must be broader already. No, I haven't got any less cantankerous about Brexit because, just as I predicted, it's a disaster brought on the country by fools.
Didn't think so.

Cry more.

How many would take EFTA membership today, I ask myself.

Could have sorted this six years ago but reasoned debate was never on the cards, just vitriolic verbiage.
And you've not stopped banging on about it for 6 years like you were right and everyone else was wrong. What you didn't and apparently still don't realise was that the politicians tasked with delivering Brexit were never going to be interested and only an idiot would think that once they got the vote they wanted they would accept delivering effectively an EU-lite. You were conned - unless you honestly think that the disastrous Brexit we've got is somehow better than remaining, and if you do tell us how. EFTA was never going to happen however sensible an idea it might have been.

People saying they'd take EFTA now pretty much sums that up, doesn't it.

Brexit itself wasn't a 'failure', it worked. We left the EU. It did exactly as it was intended to do. The current 'failure' comes from the refusal to adopt the sensible strategy, one supported by the EU themselves. Sadly, neither Labour nor the Lib Dems were interested, they kept listening to the short-sighted idiots who felt that remaining was going to happen. Remaining was never going to happen, but rather than choose the sensible idea, you all chose to put your wind behind the impossible.

Just imagine the outcome had the remainers put their efforts into demanding EFTA membership rather than trying to overturn the referendum result, seen by a lot of people as anti-democratic, thus losing the majority support. Put more effort into backing something as the easy-swayed politicians would definitely have put their backing as well. But, you didn't.

Meanwhile those of us who did opt for EFTA/similar, just sighed, rolled with the memes and buckled up for the eventual shitshow as the Tories/ERG lot and the hard brexiteers inevitably got into power and did things their way by appealing to the 'uphold democracy' argument. I'm not saying its your fault, per se... but you weren't exactly helping the situation with your whining. :)

So you accept its a failure but its all remainers fault. You need to give it up. Brexit and the disastrous result is and always will be the fault of the fools that voted for it. At least many now accept they were misled.

Labour will win the next election and 80% of Labour voters are pro EU membership. The tories are going to get what they deserve. I look forward to the start of the process that will see us rejoin.
