How Do You Respond To Stress?

I'm fortunate that, by and large, I don't really get stressed. I adopt a very 'what's the worst that can happen' attitude (with work mainly), though my missus can put me through the wringer with the rest of life sometimes. If I had peoples lives in my hands, or I had no family willing to support me, I could see why work would stress people out. But ultimately it usually comes down to something unimportant being a bit late, or someone not making quite as much money as they should, or some other immaterial bullshit that I shouldn't be stressing about in any shape or form.

Riding my bike also helps, and video games, and learning something new (should always be learning something, IMO, fantastic way to occupy the mind).

Cryptic crosswords are also a good diversion. Stimulates the same part of the brain from where pleasure is derived from, oddly enough.

You can then apply that lateral thinking to the situations in your own life and it helps you realise that what you thought was a mountain is merely a molehill.

agreed - daily wander round town to get lunch/stare at gals then tackle the cryptic crossword is a great lunchtime routine...

it certainly doesn't get me 2 down...

Years ago, a therapist told me to properly separate work & non-work.
At the end of the working day, put something of significance away in a drawer & close it. Mentally note it. That signifies work is finished & you should be able to get on with other things.
