How good can Iheanacho get?

I agree. People are changing the narrative about Pellegrini's handling of Kelechi. It, if anything, has been all over the place. Sending him on in the 88th minute multiple occasions to salvage something clearly isn't brilliant long-term planning. Coming out and saying he's not a striker after snubbing him for the absense of having any forwards on the pitch isn't trust or awareness of the kid. I think those on the whole 'Pellegrini is managing him perfectly' bandwagon are going to be red-faced when Bony comes back because Bony isn't going to be third-choice striker under Pellegrini.

Well I just hope that Kelechi gets game time irrespective. I don't mind personally if Bony plays some games so long as Kelechi gets more time than he has so far. And most kids blow hot & cold so he may have dips in form too.
It does appear to me as if Pellegrini has seen the light on this, as he's started claiming credit for it. So hopefully we'll see Kelechi getting on the pitch more even if it's often from the bench.

Aguero seems to enjoy playing with him so that's a positive in that regard.

Personally I don't think Pellegrini deserves any credit for anything he has done re young players & may have lost us one or two at least potential squad players short term, possibly ecent players longer term. I think a better manager would have several as regulars in our squad, that assessment being based on comparing them with City kids who have played Prem football in the past.

Name the players who should have been regulars and the first team players they would have replaced please.

As for your assessment being made on comparing them with players and City teams of the past well fuck me.

No. I don't want to fuck you. City kids of the past include Richards, Sturridge, Ireland, Johnson, SWP, and before that, Lake, White, Hinchcliffe etc etc & before that Barnes, Power, Owen etc efc & before that Tony Towers, Ian Bowyer etc etc so YES comparing the standard in reserve to that required to pay top level football in each era. We currently have the best group we have ever had, some of which have already gone.

And no, I won't name which 1st team players should be replaced as I've said 1000 times I don't wany ANY first team players replacing in the team at all & have spelled it out quite clearly even in this thread, & am sick to death arguing a case which I'm not even in favour of.

I repeat: I don't want ANY first team players replacing with kids at this stage. That's none.

Zero.

Someone will again ask me which kids I think should replace 1st team players & tell me I'm deluded thinking kids should be starting in the first team, watch.

I suggest you have a box of tissues handy.
MP still bound to pick Wilf ahead of Kelechi.

Could Iheanacho play on one of the flanks?

Vieira moved him there once for the EDS & he had a proper stinker, but it was probably down to him being barely match fit at the time. I would be a bit wary of doing it at this point because of that & suggest we have other kids who are potentially better in that role at this time.

By the time Pep gets here though, if he wanted to use him as a kind of wide striker, I'd imagine it could be perfect for him

I wonder if Bony would have scored 3 if he'd have played? I doubt it. I'll be gutted if Bony returns and starts ahead of Nacho. Well done Nacho!

Simply imperative he gets a place in the Champions League squad now. So big many games coming up, need everyone who is fit available for selection. Nasri is too much of a risk.

Maybe he's continually development is down to the fact that he's been used sparingly?
It could be equally argued that he's been wasted and would have contributed more, or has been developed carefully to get to this point. In truth none of us know. (Not that that will stop the self-appointed doyens crowing from the rooftop.)

Just be glad we've got him.

True enough.

Something we typically see in the PL are kids being used too often too soon and it can wreck there careers as its too hard for them and their development goes backwards or alternatively they become injury prone to fuck.

While i think our Nacho should of been used more than he has, and in general our youth squad especially in the earlier cup games I will say i prefer this method than overplaying him. This season it's all about slowly giving him more and more time, and i have every confidence he'll get more game time than he has as the season progresses.

The only way Nacho will get regular games , is when MP considers reverting to 4-4-2 , but this would mean dropping Toure , because we need four mobile, hard working , midfielders to play the system , and at 33 years old Toure cannot compete , he is still an essential part of the squad , but he should be used as an impact sub.
