How would you like the season to be decided?

How should the season be decided?

Becoming more and more convinced , this season will be finished next spring and we will lose the whole of next season.

What makes you think that?

The deadline can't go beyond June 30 for actual resumption.

That's a deadline based on TV contracts, clubs having already taken advance monies or borrowed against them (we do this) and players contracts elapsing.

Uefa would love to bring the English game to heel. They have a European Championship tournament to factor next summer.

The first thing to go would be this season.

Got to get the Scousers a title. Fuck everything else.
Not really just makes sense. No way we can start next season on time, even if we did it would be behind closed doors, pointless. I’d prefer to see us wait , finish this season with fans at games, with our chances of winning FA cup and CL . Aguero keeps his scoring records.. Couldn’t care less about Liverpool.

See the post below yours . Can’t see next season starting on time or even much before Christmas.

I really cant see that, why would clubs forgo a whole seasons money just to get the remaining 25% of this season, it wont happen.
Maybe was looking at the practical side rather than financial. If next season goes ahead as normal though they will be behind closed doors until Jan / Feb at the earliest. They’ll need a decision by July this year though.

Itll be written off now in my opinion.
Rumours of players in masks and play stopped immediately if a player's mask slips off.
Every defender that gets skinned will just whip off his mask. . . Play stopped.
Imagine if Villa lose their game in hand.
Stuck in the bottom three , they just say "we've got 5 suspected covid cases".
Season stopped again.
And another thing is.
I pay for a season card but watch most ,but not all, away games on the tellybox in the pub.
I don't have sky or bt at home.
What am I supposed to do ?

All this media "re-start" bullshit will settle down when the reality kicks in , even when Boris relaxes the lockdown i suspect many people will not be venturing to far , some clubs may re-open for training but that is a far cry from full contact behind the doors game that players will need to get back up to match fitness
Its all a big con trick from UEFA , Premier league , Sky , BT , the Dipper loving media ,they are bleeding millions of ££££ on a daily basis , the disrespect they are all showing for the 20k dead in this country by continually stating ridiculous re-start dates is galling.
The government need to step up and nip this in the bud and ban any sport in any form until 2021 , the PFA need to clearly state that they will not allow their members to play any football until 2021 , we can then start to ship the container loads of candles to Murkyside and distribute the Prozac to the little scouse rascals.

We're gonna win the league laaaaaa , we're gonna win the league laaaaaa , and now you going to believe us we're gonna win the league laaaa
Red Shite scousers the clowns that keep on giving.

Just one more thing

Its nearly May 2020 and Manchester City are still Premier League Champions , i do love a blue ribbon on a bit of silverware

If they decide to play this season behind closed doors would you want to watch the games or turn your tv in disgust.

Proper cnuts, they know they will be encouraging young people to go out and play together, they know people will not be able to resist gathering round each others houses to watch the games, even if it's free-to-air.

The only possible way they could retain any face is by, for example, each club ensuring their local hospital was fully tested. Without something like that, thousands of people, families of care and NHS workers, or victims, will be finished with the game for good. And that will be passed down the generations.

F1 looks just as bad. An absolute joke. Life's boring but there's no way ALL of this lot couldn't have sat it out and said we'll see you next year, found some other way of staying in the public eye and entertaining people.

So, if football returns (which it will), & games are played behind closed doors to reduce the cross contamination within the ground for those who have to be there, that's fine. However, how many fans are going to be outside the ground? Who's going to control those number? How's social distencing going to be maintained?
Sadly the Dippers are going to win the league, those fans are going to want to be as close as they can to the ground, Remember PSG fans outside the ground for the champions league game. Who's thought about managing those situations? Where are the published plans? I don't think they have any clue how to deal with this. And once again it'll be the Dippers saying it wasn't our fault!

I've posted the following in the Corona virus thread in the main forum
This has just been sent to me

Ok so I’ve had this confirmed if the vote is in favour at tomorrow’s meeting the season is going to resume in June, here’s the best bit, along with VIRTUAL SEASON TICKETS, so if you’re a season ticket holder now, you get to watch your teams remaining games for free, but the virtual season ticket is going to be here to stay, you pay your fee to Sky and watch every game live in your armchair at home, which will now mean the Manchester derby and other derbies and big games now being opened up to play in China, Middle East and USA in the future. This pandemic has ruined people’s businesses left people destitute jobless and short of money, so when supporters are allowed back at stadiums and they have to decide if they can afford to attend a game with their family at the prices they are at now the answer will be no can’t afford it, but I can afford a virtual sky ticket for the season. The pandemic for sky couldn’t have come at a better time to get rid of the the biggest hurdle, the match going supporter. This is happening Premier league is back in June. A company has been tasked to arrange hotels and travel for 8 weeks starting mid may. All premier league teams will play their remaining games at st georges park behind closed doors and for TV only. The complex will host 2/3 games a day that will be streamed live. The players will go into isolation mid may at select hotels in the vicinity of st georges and will train at local clubs grounds. They will not be able to see family and friends during the period of games. Each player will be tested regulary to ensure safety and hotels will be locked down for players only. Looks like we are going to have a world cup style June with loads of games to watch with your virtual season ticket. NOT IN MY HOUSE.
