hughes had no chance

OK blues.
We now have a manager who has won three league titles in one of the traditionally strong football nations. That is something we have never had. At last we have hired a top manager. Not Royle, Clarke, Ball, Machin, Reid or Hughes.

The media are loving it. The twat Saggers bigging up Abramovich's passion for Chelsea while slagging our owner.

As said before we perhaps foolishly allowed a learner driver to take the Aston Martin out for a spin. He was capable of going fast but had trouble cornering.

One question. When Liverpool need a new manager (soon) will they employ Mark Hughes?

And that is not dissing Hughes who has handled himself with dignity, not just yesterday but during his 18 months.

But all these ex players will say Liverpool need Jose or Hiddink. Hughes will not get a mention.

12 months on after being humiliated at Santander and returning home to be beat by a very poor WBA what has changed? Nothing! So something needed to be done, and now it has been done!

Abramovic, who has hired and fired more than most over the last few years?

This smacks of non football people making decisions and going about it in the complete wrong way.

This is what people need to realise. Football is big business now. The owners of clubs are only interested in one thing and that is making a profit on their investment. If heads need to roll along the way then so be it. Shame really, but thats how it is.

I'm starting a new group, it's for those who want to support the manager, players, clubs and fellow fans, keep the gallows humour that we're known for and loyalty... haven't got a name yet, might just stick with "City Fans"

this new group of yours, what if the new manager this case mancini had played for the rags rather than leicester city?

would evryione still join your group? i dont think so.
there was an agenda against mark hughes from the off, not just on here with the rags shit but the owners who could'nt wait to get rid but had to untill mancini could come.

let me make this clear, the results were not good enough(that said we've been robbed of about 10 points this season).
i understand the football side of the sacking, thats not why he was sacked though. the timing and the manner of this will go down as one of the dirtiest tricks ever in football and its making us look like dickheads.

do we want success at ALL cost?

or are we manchester city.i think there is a balance to be had. i'm old, i've waited longer than most for success, i even remember the start of the joe mercer revolution and how good it felt to win everything.
we were adored in those days, we will be detested over this and things will go against us.

mark my words.

Hopefully now he's gone this obsession people have with the rags will end.

You can't win anything nowadays without getting detested. That's just the modern football fan. Even Barcelona are hated.

What information have you actually got that this was 'one of the dirtiest tricks in football', and that he wasn't sacked for football reasons?

Everything that I have heard in the media and the club today has said that Hughes was sacked last night, didn't want to take over the game at Sunderland, but did so to not lose his massive payout at the end of his contract.

Also, I don't give a fuck who Hughes played for, any more than I give a fuck who Mancini played for. City fans support the club, not the management.

It's simple, if Hughes had done better, he would still have a job, he blew the chance.

Also, your nostalgia about an old, honourable City just doesn't exist, or have you forgotten Swales?

He won 3 titles on the spin at Inter and replaced by Mourinho. Do you think Inter became a laughing stock? Del Bosque did similar at Madrid, don't think they were a laughing stock.

actually he won two...the other one was handed to them because of a drug scandal...but as the op said, Manciti is no mug!

It's irrelevant how he won, the history books show 3 Scudettos not 2 and 1 by default!
