Hull City post match thread

I'm sure by the time UTD turn up, the boys will be well up for the battle and we'll see a much better performance, much like last season when we performed well against bigger teams, we just had a slip up against Cardiff, rectified it at half time today, and although not singing from the rooftops, happy that we ground out a win.
The term "transition period" is being bound around, so obviously we're not all stupid, and know that Manny needs some time to fit all the cogs in the City machine together, that's why I'm not overly worried as long as we grind out results until we're up to speed.
2nd half showed that Manny knows what he's doing, Negredo on for a full half and does the business without needing 4 or 5 chances ( ahem.. Dzeko)
Nasri, and Milner might get call ups too, as their presence beefed up the midfield, as long as we progress as the season goes on and get thru to the CL group stages, the team might do something this year.... still... early days yet, no need to push the panic button

wish people would stop whinging, 3 points is 3 points.
job done, now lets move on.

It was a poor performance so people will complain, maybe if you'd actually watched the game you'd understand.
You don't get points for performances though!
You get them for scoring goals and winning.
Don't care how many passes, crosses, through balls or shots on target we had today. What I know is that two shots went in the net and we got three points.
What is the point of posting that in a post-match thread? We know the score, we know we got three points. And one of the two shots that went in the net was a header. You did know that didn't you?

Excruciatingly bad and with respect to a spirited Hull if we were playing a team with more quality up front we would have been battered!

Gaps all over midfield and the defence, little cohesion or fluidity that performance was worrying and the old, "well we won!" Bollocks doesn't excuse it!

if we play like that against practually any other prem side we will get beat. united will slaughter us. oh and you can kiss goodbye to a decent run in the champions league.
people may feel my post is over critical but I say it as it is. all the city fan boys who think that was ok are as blind as fuck.

can I please have my Manchester city back?

But it's going to take time for the team to adjust to MP's tactical adjustments. Not to mention time from the new signings to adjust to English football. I don't think MP knows what his best team is as yet, so I'd expect to see a little bit of swapping and changing in the next few weeks. United's going to be a dodgy game by the looks of it, but I would think that things will have started to settle down by the time the CL starts.

Saying that, MP does need to sort out the obvious issues quickly. I know it's still early in the season, but we can't afford to fall too far behind.

agree with all you say about having to bed in etc.

now can you explain why we've been outplayed by two teams that a year ago were in the championship?
then tell me why the need to bed in stops players of the stature of yaya toure continually pass the ball to a team mate.?

or a Brazilian footballer run round like a headless chicken?

a englands best keeper completely miss a cross right under his bar?

cos I can't see what the fuck that has got to do with bedding in.

Agreed, mate. Sort of.

I never said Yaya Toure or Hart need to bed in. All they need to do is pull their finger out, and if Pellegrini is a man of his word - which I suspect he is - he'll drop them both if they carry on like this.

Fernandinho is different though. He IS in the bedding in period. His price tag means that every little mistake he makes will be highlighted.

-- Sat Aug 31, 2013 5:21 pm --

we are second on 6 points at the mo !!

The point is it won't stay like that if we play like this against decent sides, which we are playing very soon.

Maybe it was just me....but I thought Kolarov was terrible.

Constantly trying cross field passes that were the wrong option and badly executed. Plus not tracking his man very well either.

Offered nothing going forwards and hardly rock solid in defence.

Sorry, but he's not good enough for this level

Most blues who went to the game today can't be happy about that shit performance. It was woeful.

The big worry for me is Yaya

If you put the goal aside, the rest of the game he looked like he was jogging around the pitch with stilettos on?

If anyone finds his mojo can they please return it to him asap

At last.

What the hell has happened to him?

His work rate is dire, barley broke a sweat. NOT a captain.

And if he's got a free kick like that in his locker, how has it taken 4 seasons to show it us?

Still. 3 points, clean sheet, we'll see what next week brings.
And he did his party piece again. At 1-0 up and with Hull on the attack in the last ten minutes he just dropped his shoulder and let aHull player go past him. Nearly led to a goal.Got away with it today but it cost us big time against Cardiff.

I didn't think Dinho had a bad game to be honest?

His biggest problem at the moment is covering Yaya's arse when he's caught out of position or to cover because a player has gone past him so easily.

Hopefully it wont be long but when they both hit form it'll knit the team together

Hey, come on fellas. You wasn't expecting a performance like that from us. I may be biased but I think we played better than Cardiff against ya. We are only little 'Ull, we don't have the resources your club have and probably never will have. But please give credit where's it's due. I've seen maybe 3/4 posts on here saying how well we played. If we'd have been playing a team in our small league in the Prem, we'd have played them off the park. 1-0 would've been acceptable but I don't think 2-0 was the true result. We know we're not gonna be World beaters but a bit of respect would be nice.

Hope your season goes well for ya :)

If you want praise try your own forum chap....

A team led by the elephant man won get a lot of plaudits here......

So a team led by a Manager you don't like is shit!!! Doesn't matter how they played? Sad little man.
