i don't think any of our ancestors fought to let people march through streets that have not long ago seen dead servicemen come through.I would be saying the same if the bnp wher about to march through the most muslim of neighbourhoods.its disrespectful at the very least.I strongly disagree with the war in Afghanistan ,and don't belive any of the bollocks that they tell us about how they are protecting us fighting this war with these nasty muslims.Bush and Blair and their cronies are just as bad as the knobheads who strap explosives to themselves.Probably worse because they should know better

I did, and so did my father.

I agree that they lose focus on this, yet I suppose we don't really commemorate all of the people that died this year in drunken fighting. There is a difference between dying from civil disturbance and dying by the hand of a foreign war machine, at least in their eyes.

I don't think we have official statistics or ceremonies for people who died in WW2 as a result of stealing from others, etc.

But they murder thousands of their own and then preach to their own that it is the work of the British and Americans and use it as an excuse for Jihad?

It is fucking ludicrous.

I don't understand, are you suggesting that they murder Muslims and then blame the British for it? Do you have any evidence for this, as I've never heard of this before?

How can you be a so called martyr?

If they are dying or suffering for their faith, they ARE a martyr. That's just what the word means.

I still think the language that you are using, is unnecessarily aggressive and condescending. 'Their little placards', 'so called martyrs', etc.

Still, I'm sure the way that they look at it is that 10's of thousands of Muslims died last year as a result of the war. The British lost 108. In the past 8 years, we have lost 245.

More British people have died this year from peanut allergies than have died in wars, yet the press coverage seems suspiciously one sided to me, in that particular comparison.

Im condescending because i have no respect for them or their views, i apologise to you if i come across that way about your argument.

As for the thousands dead, yes it's a tragedy, however they should look a little closer to home to find the murderer's of the vast majority of them imo.

Instead of pointing the finger at everyone else why don't we first and foremost look at what we (or our "representatives") do around the world? (Do you have any idea what western governments have done to foreign countries in the past 60 years?) Atleast, if we are to believe that we live in a democracy, we have the power to directly influence what we do. Not to mention it is the morally just thing to do. It'd also mean that we are less embarrassingly hypocritical.
In any other scenario noone of sound mind disagrees with this philosophy but when it comes to global politics all rationality seems to get thrown out the window.

Nope. So that any legitimate member of our society has the same rights as every other. That IS something worth fighting for.
agree entirely.respect to anyone who believes and would fight for this belief.Just can't imagine that the beliefs of these marchers would echo these sentiments.i could be wrong.hope i am

No I don't, hence the question.

Iraq was invaded because of the belief that it possessed WMD's

Afghanistan was invaded because of its links to Al-quaeda.

You prolly do know the reasons, just don't agree with them, but that's just a whole different matter.

Sounds like a group of extreme nutters want to fight another group of extreme nutters.

We are a democracy (upto a point) and everyone has the right to protest (as long as you give the police 28 days and tell them what your protesting about so they can decide if you can or not).

This will play into media such as the daily fascist and the murdocrasy who will expect, maybe even set up some pretty distatsteful scenes should the protest go ahead. Keeps the pressure of the currupt system of governmnet we have doesn't it?

I hope somone gets a lorry and runs these horrible scum bags down and kills the lot of them.

What seems always to be missed in these discussions is a little history.

The British empire was a barbaric slaughter house that attempted to conquer the world. Do we want to allow the re-establishment of the Monarchy?

Fixed for you.

Hmm is anyone trying to rebuild the British Empire ?, i've not heard of that one myself. I have heard though about lunatic muslim groups that want to rebuild the Caliphate.
