Here is the news from the ITK at Spurs.

Pablo/Roger right re Bentley! Levy has asked for 10m in deal and petrov. (So Spurs made a offer, does not mean that City will agree to it)

Krancjar has had medical deal agree but subject to pompey signing 2 or 3 more players. (This should happen)

James no go....- Levy wont do it . (That will be the end of that one)

Hutton - 2 bids in- not sure who from nor if £££s or loan (?)

Chavez- asked for him to stay on trial and will sign on free if ok next week!

Hughes philosophy is proving correct so far is it not? 3 wins out of 3? If he thinks Bentley can do well then im inclined to believe him.

Got to agree with that, Bentley has had one average season at Spurs but he was cracking at Blackburn and I reckon he could do a good job under Hughes again. A straight swap of Petrov for Bentley, maybe with us paying a little bit of money wouldn't be a bad deal on our part because even if he was crap then he would retain most of his value but 10 million is taking the mickey

Never been keen on bentley cos of his attitude but the same could have been said for Bellers so if this happens and Bentley becomes a City player then I will give him the benefit of the doubt....it worked with Bellers and I cheered him as loud as anyone yesterday.

Mourinho, Benitez, Ancelotti, etc all brought in several players they had worked with before. Your trying to make out like he's only buying players he's familiar with, which is blatantly not the case.

How much did Spurs pay for Bentley in the first place?? it wasn't much more than 15m, Stoke are offering 5m for Petrov and Spurs are of the view that Bentley's value hasn't dropped at all, they really can fuck off.

I wouldn't think Hughes philosophy has been proven one way or the other.

We should be looking to break into the top 4, and build a squad that will one day challenge for the title.

IMO, the three players that he seems to have an obsession with (RSC, Bellamy, Bentley) are the least likely to contirbute to that.

Also IMO, when he moves away from these signings that he must have he ends up buying much better players for the short term and long term. Thats why something like this will be extremely frustrating if it comes true, we can do so much better (and thats even before I start thinking about the bloke who is only slightly less obnoxious than Bellamy).

Petrov has had his day IMO, he was one of my favourite players under Sven, but he isnt as good as what we have now. We dont really have a right sided player with a very good crossing ability, he would provide that and would be good service for Santa Cruz and Adebayor. RSC wouldnt have scored half as many for BBurn without him. He may be happier being a squad player then Petrov would be.

I dont like the guy personally, I dont like Bellamy personally, but he's a good player that does well for us and is committed, which is all I want to see from players. If Bentley does the same and gets 10 assists a season, im happy with that.

I wish people wouldn't result to personal insults in regards to the opening poster.

Saying that, people are very naive to still believe the stuff Spursmad comes out with. He's still riding on the back of calling the Taylor transfer. Nothing he's said since then has come true or not been reported by source after source after source elsewhere.

I suspect he has some kind of link to Taylor, that's all.

I like the way the starting match-day squad is taking shape. Threat from below, threat from above, speed all over, left, right, down the middle, CBs that can bring the ball out of defence.

cant see us paying 10mill plus petrov, but do think this deal will happen at a lower figure, petrov is an out and out left winger does not like to track back to much short game is not the best but is quick and delivers a decent ball on the move

bentley can deliver decent ball on the move, has decent short game, deadly from set plays, can play in the middle or the right of midfield and when he has his head on will work hard, he is more suited to our current squad of players than petrov in my opinion due to his flexability in midfield.

we know petrov wants out i can see him becoming a pain in the arse if he does not play and he stays, we know bentley can be a bit of a berk but so can bellamy but hughes seems to be able to get the best out of these players.

one more thing it is not a coincidence that RSC best season was with bentley dropping balls on his head with pinpoint accuracy when they were together at blackburn

for me it is a no brainer petrov out

the way Bentley was playing for Hughes at Rovers he would have played for nearly every side in the big4 nevermind the rest
