Why is it naaiive? Is it wrong to expect either yaya, barry or milner, whoever is playing in fact, that if a midfield compatriot is attacking maybe they hold? Take it in turns, offer a different threat, keep the opponents guessing. Cant professional players do that or is it imperative that one player, the same player sits and does nothing else? Its not really required anymore as much as it was.
Mikel is the nearest thing at chelsea and he is a first teamer no doubt but by no means an automatic starter - the same as De Jong should be
