Your views are based on rumour but when the chairman of the club says something you dismiss it.

aah right now i see, i am supposed to believe everything Cook says, o.k. no worries.

personally the only people i am prepared to believe are ADUG and once i hear from Sheikh Mansour or Khaldoon then i will stop basing my opinions on rumours.

who knows even Mr Cook may not have a job come June.....

So when did you last speak to either of them?

over dinner last week, very nice it was too thanks.

As Jim Royle says... My arse!

Well considered.

Also, didn't Cook once say Thaksin was a decent guy!

He also insisted we would need a bigger trophy cabinet when Frank took over!

You see, even the Cookie monster can be in the dark/get it wrong as to the real goings-on behind the scenes with people who actually hold the power.

Like the rest of us, he didn't seem to know that Frank was in fact potless. Do you think he would even have considered taking the job if he had known?

And he certainly wasn't aware of ADUG on the horizon (because they weren't) when he signed on the dotted line months prior to their arrival.

We'll probably know in less than a month whether Hughes will be staying on or not anyway

Like I said on another thread I expect us to improve considerably with or without Hughes next season. If we're still underachieving by crimbo and there isn't much improvement I'd give him the boot

therein lies the problem TFeH, if we wait til crimbo and then have to get shut we have wasted another season.

why take the risk?

The idea being that sacking him at crimbo could save half a season, assuming we aren't doing well in the first half of course.

I know exactly what you mean though, this season hasn't been great (although not a disaster) and it would be hard to bear another season like this considering our current potential. I can't help but feel that if we got a top manager in it would be a case of seriously getting this show on the road and making progress fast, but there aren't any gurantees. I'm not convinced by some of the names for the manager role mentioned as they've never had much part in English football and it's very different to other leagues around. A good point in having Hughes is that he knows all about the prem and he has a keen eye for the right players, so even if Hughes is sacked we should have the right players ready to push on for the next manager

If he isn't sacked at the end of the season, his summer signings will decide whether he'll make it here or not IMO. If he brings more of the likes of bellamy and bridge in then he'll have to go and I think most fans will agree, but if he brings in more of the ilk of Vinnie and Zaba in then you never know

Massaging each others egos doesn't mean you are right!

And neither does burying your head in the sand and being close-minded enough to consider all the options on the table!

As Benitez says, "I am talking about facts" (Not hearsay)

As I have said on previous threads I really cannot see Mourinho coming yet for the simple reason he needs champions league football for his ego. If he was interested in bringing a club on he would be banging on the door at Loftus Road for the QPR job they have money to burn as well. He won't just like he won't come to city till we are already in the top 4. when he took over at Inter he basically made out they had won the title by default and it would only count when he won it egomaniac doesn't cover it

QPR's owners are rich, as yet they've shown no indication that they would be prepared to spend the sort of money that would attract the likes of Mourinho.

Our owners are richer, and have shown every indication that they are prepared to spend big to get the club to the top.

We're still conceivably in with a chance of qualifying for Europe through a league position under Hughes. This is all with a squad that he mostly inherited and had a very short preseason with.

The players he has brought in have definitely had a positive impact. He has been without two first teamers for most of the season (Petty and Johnno). He has conducted himself impressively in interviews, press conferences, on the sideline etc.

Hughes is trying to change the mentality of a club that has, let's face it, been in the shit for as long as I can remember. He has the financial clout to significantly change the structure of MCFC from the ground up, but to his eternal credit he seems to be trying to keep the core values of the club intact.

We'd lose all our character if Mourinho came in, this is just in my opinion. It would be all about him.

I'd much rather if Hughes became a success here because then nobody could begrudge us it. Now I will support whichever manager comes in, because there is no point in being negative about things. I would just much rather if it was Hughes I was supporting and not the not so special one.

And if Mourinho comes in, I won't be on here after bad results sniping away, which seems to be par for the course under Hughes. If he does get the sack he never really stood a fucking chance with some of the City fans, which is a crying shame.
