According to someone on muen who was at forum with cooke and de jong last night, When the question rose about hughes future he said who would change there manager once a year it' stupid.......And said he would deffo be here next year

as opposed to Cook saying, "no, i will be sacking him in a fortnight..."

wtf was he expected to say?????

Well not claiming he would be "stupid" might be a start.

I loved the begining of this thread, no one rebutted what SDavros had to say, instead they basically said; "I'll take divers, cheaters, boring football, abusing refs and everything else that comes with being managed by Mourinho because we'll win things."

Embarassing to think that, that is what some people's views are becoming.

Mourinho comes, we'll have 2 interesting seasons, then he'll bugger off somewhere else and we'll end up searching for another manager, who'll have to build his own team etc etc.

If we're going to replace Hughes, we need a long-term appointment, who will build the club up, rather than create a short-term winning machine, imo.

the point is though that who gives a fuck if he naffs off after 2 seasons as we will be in the top 4, that is our aim and the faster we get there the better.

once we are there and have to replace jose it is a piece of piss anyway as all managers will be happy to take the job.

I still un-decided on Hughes but i think we have got to face up to the fact that he will still be here next year i think if the board were going to do it they would of by now.

If Mourinho comes then we've got arguebly one of the best managers in the world. ADUG are used to having the best of everything. I'm willing to get behind Mark Hughes because I want the club to be a success but if his replacement, namely Jose Mourinho, can increase that chance then I don't see why there should be any hesitation in installing him as our next manager.

Furthermore, players will want to play for him and his name alone will motivate players due to his reputation. Hughes does not have that, it's not down to ability as a manager, it's down to achievements as a manager. He'll attract big names and once he's successful here, big names will want to come anyway.

I reckon he'd do in them two years what Hughes is planning to in five.

Agree with the top part totally he isn't a long termer. And as the original poster said what if he doen't fancy the decent players we already have like Superman or Robinho?
Simple answer he won't come yet anyway he will wait till we are established in the top 4 then turn up. I agree he would win things for us but his recent clubs have shown a tendancy to be nearly there he steps in wins and "all hail the special one" Chelsea would have probably won the league under Ranieri had Roman not acted so fast (sacked for finishing second just aint right) and at the time when we where linked with him and Sven I wanted the tinker man.

That's true but then again Chelsea have hardly been brilliant since Mourinho left, we'll be left with a load of players that he signed. who like him, and who will probably be against whoever comes in after him, meaning we'll have to ship them out and practically bring in a whole new team. I'd prefer us to go down the route of a long-term manager, to gear the club up for long term, and sustainable success.

So if Cook said "Mark Hughes will be our manager next season" you would interprete that to mean "Mark Hughes will not be our manager next season". Just so I am clear.

and I think this is the key ane which appeals to ADUG (imo). So maybe Jose would only stay 2 years, in that time I beleive he woudl have us in Top 4, Champs LEague and with a trophy (remember them ?) too..... then we are suddenly a MUCH bigger appeal to other managers out there.

Rammy - are you still totally confident that events you outline dlast week on a thread will occur - JM in, players etc during first fortnight in June ?
