If the rot continues what happens ?

He may look clueless, but you can be absolutely sure that his maniac's brain is racing at a thousand miles an hour since the beginning of this crisis (its cruising speed is five hundred). He's already said he's not sleeping well nights, and I reckon that's an understatement.
I'll say it again, because it apparently need saying on this forum, to the point of nausea: he may be partly responsible for getting us into this mess (and there's messes and messes — United have just been pasted at home and are sitting solidly and hopelessly in thirteenth position), but there is absolutely no manager in the world I'd rather have to get us out of it.
And I will continue to say that unless we drop into the relegation zone. Even then, I'd have to have a big, long think about it…

I'd get rid of every single person involved at the club before Pep. He is City. I'm with him ride or die I just hope he gets the backing he deserves in the next 2 windows.

I like your post, but I have to demur from the part in bold. We are City. From generation to generation. Players, even the greatest, come and go. Managers, even the greatest, come and go. Owners come and go. Shit, even stadiums come and go, although on a slower timeline.

What doesn't come and go? Us, the supporters… (now where the fuck's that Chelsea shirt I left gathering dust somewhere in the attic?)

Pep usually destroys Dyche teams.

Think Everton plays City into form. Haaland double hat trick on Boxing day and the weekend.

But it's important for him to stay humble this time.

I'm worried for Pep's mental health. He's in agony over this run of bad results, bad play, bad luck with injuries, and while the fans are stressed about it I think it gets to him even more. Greatest manager of all time but he hasn't faced a test like this before. At this point City finishing 4th in the league and winning the F.A. Cup would be fantastic and that's what I'm asking Santa for, as much or more for his sake as for any reflected glory that we mere supporters get.

when Pep leaves we all want him to leave on a high. I think he's given us everything and needs a break, but, let him sort out the current mess first. btw ide take winning the CWC and Champions League oh and that FFP shite ;-)

It could be worse. My Dad could have been a utd fan and then the likelihood is, so would I have been, alongside the rest of my siblings. As it is my Dad was a blue through and through and so are we and we go into the Christmas period and since the start of November, having won just one game in our last eight Premier League matches and we are still FIVE points ahead of that lot across the way:)

If it continues for a long time we will get relegated.

So what, we have done it before and enjoyed playing in the lower divisions.
And I think this is a key differenciator between us and other large clubs.

If we got relegated... So fkin what. I'll still be a city fan and I'd still back Pep.

We should be chanting Peps name at every match and singing 'We're going down with a billion in the bank'.
Not fkin booing!!!

I suppose the next six games will decide how the season pans out. A few wins, a bit of confidence, a healthier squad are all pretty important before a brutal five weeks starting last week of January.

I'm still confident of CL play-offs and top four, even with the squad we have now.

The ' high ' could be qualifying for the CL and beating the PL 115 - NIL with the Sheikh & Khaldoo scoring 57.5 goals each !!

Imo, The whole football dept. needs a rebuild, refit, refresh and re boot.

We are getting a new DoF

New players.

A new stand.

Do we need a new......?

Pep must not make himself Ill over football.

We just need to worry about ourselves that's all that matters and for me that has been a weakness of the club.

We seemed to have been scared of spending and what the reaction of football thinks of doing that.

Not sure it's right to frame it as being scared.

I do think they were aware and conscious of all the criticism and the jibes of spending money.

We've all heard and seen the description of us as moneybags City, pundits mentioning the cost of the bench and Pep described as a chequebook manager. All bullshit and applicable to many sides and not just us, but we know how the redshit media operates.

So over the past 5 years City have made sure that we aren't the biggest spenders and still won everything.

I think they would have liked those facts to shut up the detractors. However it's made no difference. We're still criticised as big spenders even though recently we're not.

This season though, the tightening of the belt has led to problems.

So, I think the club should say, fuck it, let's spend like the Champions that we are. We've earned it, so lets spend it!

That’s why other fans are tearing their hair out as to why we haven’t sacked him, we are less reactive as we have lots of fans who have been through the ringer for 35 years

He simply does not have the players available to him to do anything different until January. Pep is the greatest manager of all time. If he can't fix it nobody can. Which is why him looking completely clueless is putting the fucking fear of God into me because if he goes a new manager won't improve it.
The team that started at Villa was a very decent 11 but again with the setup of the midfield we did not stand a chance, it was so easy for villa.

As long as he wants.

He will be hurting right now. He will be searching for answers more than anyone else.

Nobody is better equipped to provide them than Pep.

We may find that WHEN we come out of this, IF we have backed and supported our manager in his time of need, when we have won another title with him - he may then extend again to reciprocate that backing which he so badly needed.

People need to give their heads a wobble.
100% agree with that.

If we come out of this with Pep at the helm with a new, young exciting team he won't be going anywhere soon.

In the embargoed part of the Villa press conference Pep seems relaxed and remarkably sanguine; he doesn't appear broken at all

The embargoed part of all the press conferences are almost the most honest and revealing, totally agree, he was completely aware of what the issues are and the solutions, thanks for posting.

lets hope Santa is bringing him the 1st edition of "How to win football matches with midfielders that can't or won't run"
He has already bought the best seller of the last six years - "How to implement the 10-man defence strategy" subtitled "Pack the box". Essential reading for all EPL managers trying to combat Pep's press.

Your wife tried to sell it on Ebay but there were no offers, so it went to the Salvation Army Charity shop

Unless it's one of the experts from bluemoon of course.
