If we get to either final are you going ?

We only sold out Porto once the club offered free flights & that was only 6k tickets. There will be double the allocation available for the Final and almost any City member will be able to get a ticket
I'm not so sure about that.
Like myself, many fans payed their own way before the free flights were advertised, with a good number not even having match tickets.
Remember everyone who went to Porto had to pay between 1/2 hundred quid on top just for all the covid tests required which was a lot of messing about.
I think you could be surprised at the demand for final tickets.

You'll be absolutely fine. Both clubs got 20,000 for the final in Paris last year in a stadium roughly the same size. Let's assume that we get 20,000 and the club takes 2,500 of those. There won't be 17,500 cup scheme members ahead of you. In fact, looking around the ground the other night, we don't have 17,500 cup scheme members full stop.
Your right, I reckon. Each CL game there are only a handful of us regulars in our block. The remainder are mainly tourists with hardly an English accent to be heard. The guy sat next to me on Tues joined in with the "Follow" song by singing "Hello" instead - but that was the only word he knew so kept singing it. The guy sat next to my son was of similar ethnicity and was wearing flip flops without socks - on a cold night like that ! YCNMIU.

I'm in the CL scheme and I don't miss a
home game but sadly wouldn't go to the final, unless it was at Wembley or Hampden. Got other priorities for the money it would otherwise cost, judging from recent years.

The Stadium in Istanbul holds nearly 75,000.

Any idea on how many points will be needed? I am on the UEFA scheme and have just short of 12,000 points.

We will probably book a City Break for Istanbul. I have not done an away European match since Gornik in the Prata Stadium in 1970 unless you count the Celtic match where I went in the home end. I will never do that again!
My last European away trip was at Stamford Bridge vs Chelsea 1971 ECWC semi-final.
I went Doddy from on here, and his cousin (my school pal) in his Dad's van to Watford and then the Tube from there.
I didn't think my Dad would let me go( I was 15 at the time and still at school) but Dad said that I might not get chance to go to a European semi-final again for a long time. In hindsight,he was a 100% correct.

If we get 20k tickets there is no way 17.5k go to points. Probably 2/3rds with all the extra requests they will get, and some could be contractual for this very event.

I went to that game too. Along with my mate BillT from on here. We're still travelling to City matches together, in fact :-)

Istanbul for a CL final is fantastic....great historic city and wonderful sights.

Everywhere is costly but these are the times of our lives which may not come around again.

Demand will exceed supply 5rom City fans

I was at the Chelsea away match. I had completely blotted it from my memory. As well as being the second most brutal team in the First Division (after Leeds), Chelsea were the most boring to watch. At least Leeds could play football if they wanted to.

Chelsea flooded the midfield with cloggers who would kick the shit out of everybody in the way that Neil Warnock and other have done subsequently to avoid relegation.

The difference was that referees allowed teams to get away away with it in the 1970s. A truly horrible team!

I got sign off from the mrs for Paris which then didn't happen of course, but Istanbul might be a push. If I could take her and ditch the kids with someone maybe! A long way to fly in and fly out just for the game, but I'd definitely consider it depending on pricing. FA Cup final definitely.

Liverpool put 17.5k to their fans last season, according to a lad I know who is a S/T holder there. What makes you think City would take a bigger percentage for friends?

I'll be at both if we get there.

Quite difficult to gauge the numbers in comparison to Porto as the club put free flights, however there was a right load of arsing about regarding Covid at the time, I went out for a week and had to have 3 tests.

If we get there hopefully it won't be against Chelsea just so the travel options will be a bit easier. Eyeing up Paris last year was becoming an expensive do as Liverpool were doing all the same routes we would have done, plus they were effectively through after the first leg of the semi.
