I hope he doesn’t get another 3 year deal, blimey he doesn’t move quickly enough now what will he be like in 3 years after a couple of more injuries. I dread to think

To be honest in a normal game I wouldn't want him diving in to take out Maguire. Herding him out to the sideline and waiting to take the ball off him if he makes a bad touch, or block any pass is probably the best way to deal with it. 9 times out of 10 Maguire loses it that way, and in the 1/10, we had 3 v 2 (would have been 4 if Walker tracked back) and you force them to take a very unlikely shot from outside the area.

I'd rather he save a yellow card for stopping someone who might be through 1v1 or stopping a proper counter attack where we've got no cover.

The main reason people freaked out was because of the situation in that game, where it felt like Leicester even looking at our goal was going to mean we conceded and lost the title.

Both chances Gubdogan conceded were title losers.

They fucked up both, luckily for us.

This is nonsense analysis. The first was a cover job, where was the RB. It wasn't like we lost the ball on his overlap.

The 2nd he should have done better on. But his performance in the middle was fantastic.

These single point analysis are silly as fuck. I could do it for every game anyone has played for us.

The first was as bad as it gets defensively.

Not surprising, because he has no nose for spotting danger, but still.

As for his performance being 'fantastic' that's why I can't trust this thread when it comes to Gundogan.

He made some nice interceptions in the opponents' half. Did his best.

If that's 'fantastic' then yes he was fantastic.

Ha! The Maddison chance is a goal 2% of the time. He's taken a shot 5 yards outside the box with 3 defenders between him and Ederson.

It's not even close to being a serious chance.

It takes some serious blinders to conclude this. :?

He's Pep's sort of thing, and it's always easier to plan to move on players and bring in replacements than it is to actually do it. And even if it goes exactly to plan, sometimes the player you get doesn't work out at all.

Seems almost a certainty to me he will be re-signing.

Just watching the number of times he fails to spot danger & the number of times he has been overtaken by others who saw it first & busted a gut to get back stop it, whilst he didn't, will do.

But there is no point in discussing it.

He's played the same high quality game every week for 3 years according to this thread.
