Where did I say I think we WOULD lose?
so do you think we wouldn't win both games with both lineups?

if we would win both, then why wouldn't we play foden if he's supposed to replace david silva next year (and get much better this season in order to do that)?

The main issue with gundogan is his speed & energy! He’s a quality player when given time the problem is younger hungrier midfielders stroll past him.

He should never play in an away game against aggressive teams!

Yes Foden will make more mistakes & that’s because he will fight for the ball more and want it more. He will also chase back much more.

Foden over gundy every day for me
Not two pages back it’s been confirmed that Gundogan won the ball back more times than any other player yesterday .
I’d love to know what he needs to do to be accepted .
I’m not even his biggest fan but , unlike some, I don’t despair when I see his name on the team sheet.
It’s baffling why some people need a boo boy or scapegoat for this team . There are people in the Mahrez thread saying how they slagged him last season but “he’s been outstanding this year so Ill let him off “ .
Sterling, Sane, Walker, Mahrez , Gundogan .......... you could go on and on but they’ve all had the boo boy status at times .

Like Everton? what about home games against "aggressive teams"

Everton was very aggressive yesterday & didn’t give us much time. If I’m totally honest gundy is a cup player and sub when we need to slow the game down. Great squad player but He offers nothing starting. He occasionally has a great game but mostly he’s wasteful and slow.

Mate
Please read my post again .
It’s a hypothetical scenario .

Are you basing your assertion on what you saw in training all week, the knocks or any ailments players might be carrying, the opposition and the tactics or just your assumed player status - gen Q?

Pep picks teams to win games, not satisfy keyboard managers (not a dig btw). No one on here has any indication as to what goes on during the weeks preparations to decide who is the best athlete for each game. Keyboard managers also tend (imo) to focus on one game at a time whereas Managers in general, and in particular Pep will have a broader horizon than that.

Yes, I am stating the obvious, because it is.
I'm basing what I'm saying on the only thing I can, what I see in games. What else do you expect me to do?

I think pep is making a clear and obvious mistake here. He's not selecting gundogan based on his quality, rather he's not selecting foden because of his aversion to playing academy players.

Of course I'm a keyboard manager expressing an opinion on a fan forum, chances are, I am wrong

Not seen that and surprises me if correct. Be interesting to see what area of the pitch this was and stats on how many times he gave it away. I wouldn’t say he’s a boo boy but when he doesn’t start our midfield looks much more solid & quicker to me. Pep clearly knows much more than any of us & clearly loves him but I find myself very frustrated watching him & constantly saying ffs gundy in 90% of games as I do with otamendi & re recently Zinchenko.

Occasionally gundy looks the best player on the pitch which baffles me even more. It’s time for Foden in my opinion never over the silvas or Kev but yes over gundy.

Have to agree to disagree if you think he is wasteful and simply a cup player

Sorry mate, that is nonsense, and I suspect you know that.
