Independent Regulator Petition

Well, here's my two 'penneth…

The key word here is independent. Any new system must be independent of individual or collective club influences. Whoever/whatever it comprises must represent the game as a whole. I'm not sure people knocking Gary "what's-in-it-for-me" Neville is a valid reason for not signing this petition, there are followers of other teams also signing up, I think not voting because Gary Neville has voiced an opinion is throwing the proverbial baby out.

Any proposal that changes the current twisted and corrupt system has to be given a listen. Something has to be done and this proposal is certainly better than doing nothing. That's not to say what follows will be any better, but at least we get an opportunity to try and Influence the outcome. I say again, to do nothing is to keep things as it is, and that's unacceptable.

It gets my vote.
Spot on.

Unfortunately, some Blues are still so scarred by the 90s that they'd rather stick one up Neville, even if it means sticking one up City at the same time. Quite sad really.

It isn't going to be independent of club influences is it? Its going to be run by either a rag or a scouser by the looks of it. Probably have David Gill or Gordon Taylor in as an 'advisor'.

What you are going to get is Neville, Howson and the other numpties screeching down a microphone about how they need to make the premiership great again and put the rags back on top.

How dare Neville stand up on TV and woman and moan about the glazers when he took pay slips off them for years, has built businesses off the back of the clubs name and now hes bank rolling his own club up the pyramid.

If he has such a problem with the game why doesn't he refuse to commentate on rags games or is it all ok when hes at the swamp taking in the free dinners and booze with Tyler before each game?

Load of nonsense.

Its nothing to do with the 90s, because I'd be more scared of Swales, Ball and a lot of others who were actually involved with the club at the time.
Neville like Rio weren't bellyaching in January when they thought a united led by the Glaziers could win the league.

How will City benefit from these proposals mate?
They might not necessarily benefit City per se but if it brings about a conversation that helps us stop another attempt at creating a Super League or brings about regulation that gives fans a bigger voice in the game, cheaper tickets etc. Then surely it’s worth looking at!!!

How will City benefit from these proposals mate?
Well at the moment there is far too much influence in FA, PL, UEFA and FIFA from people with conflicts of interest, David Gill, Parry etc.

Football has been left to govern itself, and the FA in particular has been called "Unreformable" by its former head Greg Dyke.

The clear abuse of power and conflict of interest was seen in its starkest light with UEFA's appalling "investigation" in to City's FFP affairs last year.

Football has shown it is unable to govern itself, there are too many snouts in the trough, and too many self-serving pigs in positions of influence making decisions in the interests of their club at the expense of clubs like City.

The only hope is for independent governance to be forced upon football. And that's what this petition is asking for.

It's not some trojan horse white paper to give United a by to the CL Final as some are suggesting. If anything, it's the exact opposite.

It's asking for the government to intervene and put governance in place that is independent and free from conflicts of interest.
