Independent Regulator Petition

Done. Also wrote to my MP, Matt Warman, who is a Parliamentary Under Secretary whose responsibilities include Sport. :)

The conspiracy theorists shall inherit the flat earth
Not a conspiracy theorist pal, just not green enough to think people aren’t in it for their own vested interests, plus so called independant bodies like Police complaints commission, press complaints commision, OFFCOM, ombudsman have about as much clout as tickle.
You carry on though.

Well at the moment there is far too much influence in FA, PL, UEFA and FIFA from people with conflicts of interest, David Gill, Parry etc.

Football has been left to govern itself, and the FA in particular has been called "Unreformable" by its former head Greg Dyke.

The clear abuse of power and conflict of interest was seen in its starkest light with UEFA's appalling "investigation" in to City's FFP affairs last year.

Football has shown it is unable to govern itself, there are too many snouts in the trough, and too many self-serving pigs in positions of influence making decisions in the interests of their club at the expense of clubs like City.

The only hope is for independent governance to be forced upon football. And that's what this petition is asking for.

It's not some trojan horse white paper to give United a by to the CL Final as some are suggesting. If anything, it's the exact opposite.

It's asking for the government to intervene and put governance in place that is independent and free from conflicts of interest.
As stated more than once here where were these self confessed heros of the modern game when there teams were taking all of the cream I'll tell you ...lapping it all up.
I'm not saying a independent body wouldn't be a improve if ran correctly, but scratch the surface with these characters and Sky fronting it i smell a rat.

Independent ????. Thats hilarious
Remember when we thought var would benefit football
Independent !!!!!

The actual title of the petition is

Introduce an Independent Regulator for Football in England by December 2021

THAT"s hilarious! Lollllll!

I genuinely don't get it.

It's not a thread about Gary Neville. Happy to climb in and have a few pot shots about Gary Neville myself. Maybe we should start another thread?

It's a thread about the independent governance of football.

Something that would be of great benefit to City.

But because Gary Neville supports it, it's turned in to a thread about Gary Neville and how something he supports must automatically be bad for City. Bonkers.

The red's aren't under the bed anymore, lads. Move on.

I won't be signing. I believe a lot of the people who signed the letter acted for self interest and what they perceive to be the rags interest.

The owners of our club were misguided in showing an interest in ESL but they have done nothing but good for the club and Manchester without any outside body interfering.

Furthermore my understanding is that FIFA are completely against any government control of football and ban any football association that they considered to be under such control.
