Independent Regulator Petition

So it's nothing in the actual wording in the petition itself that gives you cause for concern?

It's that various social media celebrities who support United are in favour of it, so that automatically makes it a bad thing?

Just read the actual petition itself and let me know how anything that's actually contained in it would leave City in a worse place than we are now.

The whole point of signing it is to limit the overbearing influence City's enemies have in the current governance of European football. I think you'd be hard pushed to invent a system less favourable to City than the current one.

And for those paranoid about Neville, he's waxed lyrical about City's owners and the investment in Manchester for years, and talked out about FFP and how it's bad for football.
Still a fucking cünt though.

Who the fuck is Alex Rolfe? ... it's all Gary Neville behind this, Alex has simply been a name put on the petition to look "independent" ... if that doesn't tell you what independent regulator the reds are pushing for, you need to open your eyes.

The whole merits of an independent regulator or not and what's good for English football and whether that is in line with what's good for City or if it's United and Liverpool again crying and trying to catch up to City via this new "independent" supervision which can impose some new form of FFP or other rules that help them is a different debate all together and I am happy to debate that separately.

What pisses me off here is the false and misleading title given to the thread originally "Vote to get David Gill out" and posted this petition which is all Gary Neville has been campaigning for ... that was crap ... half the people who went on to vote and first few pages all saying done, done, done, didn't even read it and just went by the title and what the OP had said that to get Gill off UEFA etc sign this ... how the fuck this petition get Gill or anyone off UEFA or G14 or the ECA?

So while OP's intentions might have been right and whatever or maybe he/she didn't know themselves but you don't go on a City fans forum and post something that mis-leading ... people when they have all the info, it's up to them that they sign it or not ... 100k is nothing and other clubs members, United alone would probably make up the nos. and as far as this petition is concerned it doesn't matter if we sign it or not ... as I said that's a totally separate debate.

As for Gary Neville, the only thing he cares about is his Salford club that he is an owner of now and that's all this is originating from. He had absolutely no objections to anything till it hit him that ESL and big clubs leaving (with the money) would destroy the clubs lower down (and him directly) and the dream of already having rolled up to League 2 to climb up further would be jeopardized by that ... nothing else mattered to him ... try and read in between the lines and when he's speaking, just think for a minute what he's all about.

Mind you, all these clubs (United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Juventus and co.) will all gang up again very soon to try and bring new FFP or new regulations that doesn't allow Groups of Clubs like City (whatever they can to stop us from dominating and eating into their money pots, and their future fan bases) ... the biggest worry they have is a decade more of City on top (and Chelsea) and they'd all become the clubs of old, the likes they replaced a few decades ago ... Villas, Forrests is where United and Liverpools will fall down to the level of and all "new" fans, kids of today growing up ... will be all City or Chelsea ... that's what scares them the most ... ten years from now, or twenty if City sustains the kind of success they had in 70s and 80s for Liverpool or 90s and 00s for United ... then it'll be all City fans everywhere, all kids growing up today, already for the past decade worldwide kids who have grown up with Agueeeerooooo moment etc. Add another decade of that and in 15-20 years you'd see all City fans in media houses, in newspapers ... the thing we complain about our media today is full of reds, well it'll turn all blue ... and that's what scares them and that's what they don't want ... again, a separate debate.

Sorry but our club is run just fine ... and we don't need an "independent" regulator to tell us what we can or can't do ... and it's not City's or City fans' job to save English football or other lower league (or red) clubs if they're run badly or their owners care more about their own pockets ...

So 3 ex footballers who made a fucking mint and now employed by wealthy broadcasters who were not involved with the ESL want reform. My fucking arse . They want what's best for there club. Not Macclesfield or Exeter etc
Fucking scummy wankers.

Independent governance of football is not what's best for City?
If this comes about they can look what is best for the game in England they can change an awful lot with the power they will have! You can tell me it’s an independent governance of football, we all know people who are well balanced intellectual change when they support a team you can’t even reason with them the football fan rears it’s head and then the city bingo comes out!

personally I wouldn’t trust them! We have been shat on far to long with rules to try to stop us in the last 10+ years..

Well at the moment there is far too much influence in FA, PL, UEFA and FIFA from people with conflicts of interest, David Gill, Parry etc.

Football has been left to govern itself, and the FA in particular has been called "Unreformable" by its former head Greg Dyke.

The clear abuse of power and conflict of interest was seen in its starkest light with UEFA's appalling "investigation" in to City's FFP affairs last year.

Football has shown it is unable to govern itself, there are too many snouts in the trough, and too many self-serving pigs in positions of influence making decisions in the interests of their club at the expense of clubs like City.

The only hope is for independent governance to be forced upon football. And that's what this petition is asking for.

It's not some trojan horse white paper to give United a by to the CL Final as some are suggesting. If anything, it's the exact opposite.

It's asking for the government to intervene and put governance in place that is independent and free from conflicts of interest.
It's a precursor to attempting a 50 + 1 ending and I think we all know what that means, Bundesliga anyone?
