Just finished the pure cardio video

Now that is bloody hard work.

Just out on interest, what is the ideal Max workout heart rate to be doing?

I had my heart rate monitor on today and averaged between 160-170bpm. Doing an online calculator my Max heart rate should be about 190bpm. So I am averaging about 80-90% of my Max heart rate. Is this too much? Or about right for this intense workout?
From the Insanity welcome sheet,
"Most programs recommend that you work out at 70 to 85 percent of your maximum during intense intervals. Guess what? With Insanity you´re likely to be working at 85-plus percent of your max".

Thanks for that

Looks like its about right then.

£100 from the tv ad or £35 from ebay sealed and 100% feedback.

Any advice? This is the programme I want to buy for when my back is fixed

I would go with the free version myself ;-)

Just thought i'd give my opinion on insanity seeing as I've done it for 3 and a half weeks. It is a very very tough workout, but i really did feel incredible afterwards. My whole body felt toned and tight, I realised I was getting muscle definition in places I never knew I could, and that was only after under 4 weeks. I found I had to up my energy food intake as I was getting seriously knackered ( I don't follow the food plan).

Unfortunately I have had to stop and give my shin splints a proper rest as I started insanity already suffering from shinsplints from running. Once they have heeled I absolutely cannot wait to get back into it, I hate not exercising.

I gather this is murder on the knees?

Not if you wear decent trainers and use proper form when jumping/landing

You could probably do it barefooted if you didn't have a good pair of trainers as well.

I wouldn't recommend it, landing from a lot of jumping you need support for ankles, ie good grip from trainers.

I'm getting the DVD's off a lad at work tomorrow.

Found the fit test on Vimeo tonight and thought I'd give it a go. Fuck me I'm unfit, i barely managed double figures in the reps and I'm fucked.

Don't know if i can keep that up for 60 days.

insanity workout, sounds like another way of saying bluemoom forum!

but seriously, i dont kniw anything about it but the main thing is motivation, and if this gets u excited then it will probably work.

As has been mentioned on the previous page, for those that need instruction/structure,and maybe that bit of motivation...... then such routines are great, however, they really aren't required.

Press ups,Chin ups and squats, body weight or otherwise, using varying rep ranges and rest periods, along with a healthy diet, are all you need to get in great shape.

The above are the basis for my training these days and i'm in better condition than the vast majority.

Whatever route you choose though, much respect for doing something!

so humans could never run and jump all day everyday before shoes were invented? Well this is news....
