Inter Milan (N) | Champions League Final | Post Match Thread

For all you aircraft spotters out there,I’ve noticed the the Etihad Manchester City livery plane has landed in Turkey and due to fly to Manchester later today,I wonder why as Etihad airlines don’t normally fly from Turkey due in at 16.40 arriving at terminal 2,
Per Flightradar 24, A6 BND is due to leave IST at 14:26, landing at MAN 16:40.
Damn, I'm under the flight path for 23L, and they're using 05L atm.
;-(

The mantra seems to be that we didn't play well - that we got lucky on the night - such statements are rubbish. Inter played well - they went man to man all over the park, they closed down quickly, disrupted our passing lines and most of all blitzed Rodri. To counter that we had to play well - sometimes not as fluently as we have done on other occasions - but that was down to Inter and the way they played - not City playing badly. We coped with it, we still created chances - and in the end we scored with a classic City goal - probing the defensive lines - pulling them left, coming out again when the gaps closed and then switching into the spaces that had been created on the right to make room for Rodri to come storming in. After that we were always going to have to hold tight - Inter were going to come at us and everyone was going to have to defend - they did brilliantly - Ok a bit scarily at times, and if Phil could have put that chance away it would have been a bit more comfortable - but these are the two best teams in Europe at this point in this season - it was never going to be easy - and you don't overcome a team like Inter whilst playing badly.

I’m forced into silence! My sons not knowing it was CL final night when they booked the tickets 12months ago were at the Etihad tonight watching The Weekend! They’ve been led out of the stadium with AirPods on highest level & eyes closed to the car by their partners. Driven home under a blanket & are watching the whole bloody 97mins of torture as live!! Couldn’t write it! Can’t wait to celebrate with them in about 75mins!!
The likely lads.

Anyone know when the plane is due to fly in? Wouldn’t mind seeing it arrive.

Last night we weren’t great
But we won that for being there for the last 5 years consistently
We have been the best team in Europe and we deserve it
champions league winners
Three peat
Derby fa cup final win
Treble

Drink it in, it may never get better than this
This is the top of the mountain

I think Inter were a part of us not looking great too. They set up very well and played with a great deal of discipline I'm terms of sticking to their task.

You only have to look at their defensive record to see its not easy to keep making chances against them.

In a way, I like that we won it in a bit of a dogfight kind of match, I think that'll give us huge confidence going forward on big occasions. We all know we can turn up and steamroll teams if that's how it pans out. But now we know we can grind it out on the biggest stage. I think that's massive for us.

Did anything go on at the Etihad after the game? They had the blue lasers ready for 2021, did they use them for this win?

rival fans are shaking, rightly so.

City won the TREBLE, this is something most rival fans will never do. never in their lifetime.

5 different UCL winners in the last 5 seasons. 3 English teams in that list.
And that's how it should be. All this talk of dominating this competition from now on is bollocks. Nobody except Real Madrid dominates The European Cup. It is all the biggest and best clubs priority, making it by far the hardest to win. Domination is almost impossible.

Just woke up from the best sleep I’ve had in ages (may be due to all the alcohol) and I’m still in dreamland.

City really won the cup last night.

Shout out to all the blues Istanbul, and every part of the world.

CTWD!

What a club. We’ve only gone and done a fucking treble. I cannot believe it. CTID
