Interesting/Unfortunate Names

We very nearly called one of our kids Gwilym. But changed our minds at the last minute. Neither of us are Welsh, we just liked the name.

My friend and his two brothers have Welsh names but are English.

The Cockneys a few doors down called their boy Rhys.

Think there was a butcher in Stretford in the 50's with the name above the shop-'R Sunter'.

And the optician in Urmston 'R Sandler'

I used to work (many years ago) in the same organisation as a Mr Badger. Whenever I phoned him, I imagined a fucking big badger sat at the other end, chewing a turnip.

It made me both hesistate and break into a slight giggle the first time I had to call up a US colleague and ask to speak to Jesus at the switchboard.

Worked with a girl called Mercedes Carr....
and enountered a family one time the kids being called Chardonnay & Bordeaux (no kidding as I saw the evidence)....the girls were running around and the mother called out their names so we got their pronunciation
"Chardonnay" & "Borddox"

Also a classic error or piss take and noted on a doc. Taken literally with the registrar having a bad day
"Matthew Mark Luke And John....."

I call Bolleaux on that.
