IPTV

I'm ready to dip my toe into IPTV having stated on a different thread that BT sport has to go after the Arse game. I have just bought an LG OLED TV( it's bloody awesome and we seem to still win on it too!) so, can anyone advise the best way to go about this? Box, firestick, can it be downloaded straight onto a Smart TV avoiding the latter 2 options?

Help!!
Android box.

Today, I put my money where my mouth is-for a change- and binned BT Sport as I promised to do following the Arse game commentary. The girl at BT Warrington was really good after I told her the reason and she let me out of the remaining months on my contract for a small increase in my Broadband price(maybe it helped that her hubby is an Everton fan). In the meantime, I have purchased and have installed a Firestick at £50 and am now in receipt of a full IPTV with help from a fellow contributor-thanks. all together £7/month better off, nothing going to BT for the Sport bit and the ability to get the City games abroad without real fear of buffering or VPN. Another good result!!
smart move

Could do with some assistance please regarding IPTV. Totally new starter with this as I've always had virgin with BT sport and Now TV on my phone and tablet for SKY games.

Been scanning the Web for sticks and boxes and I read some don't offer sport and some do, is this correct? Ideally some ideas on which box / stick to potentially get would be useful please

In terms of a service I assume I search on Google Play on the box or stick?

I already have a VPN with Norton for my phone and tablet when out and about. Is this OK for IPTV, or should i look elsewhere like Nord etc? and again I would just download this from Google Play on the box or stick.

Sorry for being a bit needy, not a clue where to start tbh. Thanks in advance. Cheers

Just get a 4k firestick, they run IPTV perfectly well. That VPN is fine but any half decent service won't need you to run one

So the discounts I negotiated with Sky last year have just ended and as a result my £52 a month Sports/Signature package has gone up £19 to £71 a month. Am I best trying to renegotiate or would this IPTV thingy give me access to the channels I want for less money? Would I need a smart TV cos the only thing 'smart' in our house is the wife apparently? Also I'm the least tech savvy bloke going but, given the choice, I'd rather not give my money to Sky if possible. Any advice appreciated!

If you're happy paying then it's always worth renegotiating. I pay about £36pm for all Sky channels incl Netflix so I don't have much of a problem with it. I'm not that arsed about the 3pm kos because we rarely play at that time and if we do I'm at the game. Obviously BT and Amazon games are extra. It's worth giving IPTV a go to see if it's for you but I like the ease of Sky Q and the recording functions myself. If I went the IPTV route the missus would be constantly asking me questions about it so it's worth the money for the peace and quiet.
