he's a united fan so why not

Because maybe, just maybe, spending over a decade at a club and hearing it's fans singing your name every week would do more to change your mind than who you liked when you were a lad?

Besides, where does this United fan thing come from? People seem to say it, but I've never seen a quote with Ireland saying it?

he said it in an interview befor im sure he'd like the united fans singing his name just as much as well as being in the team pay rise and winnig trophies

If he wants to win trophies he should stay where he is.

He wouldn't get a pay rise.

As I've said, this is all academic anyway, there is no way City would sell to them.

But the reality is he'd win more there, as hard as it maybe to accept, (which so many on here tend to have a problem doing)

Ha ha ha.

Someone just reminded me of the outpouring of sympathy for Elano when Hughes dropped him. I recall several posters from this thread whining about how Hughes was putting together a team of "cloggers" and "work horses"....

The vast majority said that if he wasnt prepared to accept his role then he can go.

He was asked the question at a fans forum a couple of week ago. It was posted on here. He grew up supporting United and Roy Keane is his footballing hero...

Why do i feel like this thread is now going to be another 50 pages of "Fuck the rag twat"...;- )

he's said it a few times about being a united fan as a kid and keane being his hero as he was from cork like him. He did turn united down though to join city as a 14/15 year old. Since living in manchester he's grown to be a blue so I cant really see him switching to the dark side.
