Ireland speaks out [Merged]

Compare this spoilt brats comments with those from his replacement on the OS. Milner was gracious to his old club, at the same time saying all the right things about ours. Mancinis pulled off another great move here.

If I was a Villa fan I'd be worried. His statement more or less says he only plays for himself.

Stevie has every right to be upset. He was fast on his way to becoming a legend here until the negative italian showed up. Why is Mancini immune from criticism? He's shown Ireland, Bellamy and Given the door, our 3 best performers under Hughes. Mancini has done NOTHING in the way of building team spirit, this not speaking to players carry on from a supposedly top manager is unacceptable, his man management skills are non existent.
LOL!!

What a clown, Bellamy has proved he has much more class than this gimp.

Agreed at least Bellamy left with dignity.

And this arm round the shoulder rubbish.... Ireland 24 on Sunday and a professional foorballer. What's Mancini supposed to do go round hugging all the players.

Having seen the interview before the thing that struck me was the amount of times he mentioned the "pressure". Obviously I always knew that Stevie wasn't all there but I often felt like he was too preoccupied in not making a mistake to live up to his potential. This is something I've noticed in SWP. Watch his performances before he left and those of his straight after his return. He was loved by the fans and played like a man without any troubles compared with his performances post take over, Chelsea and England whereby his inclusion in the team was not always assured. He plays nervously and I'm beginning to wonder whether this is something that needs addressing in our youth system. I hope I'm wrong and maybe Vlad et al will prove me wrong and the latest batch will be mental strong enough to cope under pressure, only time will tell.

Nice to see some healthy scepticism. Good post on all counts.

All Ireland needed was an arm round the shoulder. What he got was David Platt bleating at him about playing in the reserves.

Just not an acceptable way to treat a player.

Oh perleeeeese. He's supposed to be a grown man, a grown man doing something we all could only dream of, and got rewarded very healthily for it.

we'll see how good ireland is when he's sat on villas bench in the not to distant future, he hasn't got the mental strength to be a great player year in year out imo. we want winners now so there is no room for sentiment....if you don't cut it your out the fuckin door simple as that.

Bellamy hasn't left yet, he is out on loan, wait until he signs for a team permanently before passing judgement on his leaving comments.

Can't be arsed to fight for his place, so he just wants to walk into the first team then? Sounds like he wants to be the big fish in the small pond (no offence Villa but your squad doesn't have the names ours does now - and I'm not bragging, it's just a fact). It's not like he didn't have his chances under Mancini either. I'm disappointed in him because I liked Stevie and thought he was worth another season to get his head sorted and his fitness back to what it was but if his attitude to another season would have been what he stated then I was clearly wrong and Mancini was spot on with his comments and to get rid.

Or maybe it's because City are ruining Ireland (the country being the rag stronghold that it is); Dunne; Ireland; Shay next? It doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to see City slipping some brown envelopes to Martin Hansson and his linesmen. ;)
