De Rossi will join.

Another midfielder?

We've got more than enough forwards (Silva is used as a trequartista now) a surfeit of central defenders and a satisfying amount of full backs. We haven't got enough midfielders for good contingency plans.
Bang on the money, Mancini has said that we dont have enough defensive midfielders, De Rossi is in the last year of his contract so will be cheaper, he has shown himself to be a fantastic player and Mancini of all people will know as he has experience in Serie A and will have watched him many a time.

I am going to absolutely hate the african cup of nations. Man City is certainly not the same with Y. Toure. Imagine if he gets injured?!?!?!?
Relax, during the AOC, we only play:
H Spurs
A Everton
H Fulham
A Aston Villa

And that's only if Côte d'Ivoire make it through the whole tournament and beats the likes of Cameroon, Egypt, and Ghana.
only two of our biggest bogey teams then
Lol! Like my man said, Relax! Or look on the bright side, if we lose to either we can blame it on not having Yaya :P

Iniesta is no better than what we have and considering what we would have to pay for him I really hope this isn't true.
Let me help you rephrase that. "Iniesta cannot do any better than what we have" He is actually better. But coming late to the party, being injury prone, and not having his mates Messi, Xavi and Busquet in tow, will mean he will not be as effective as he is for Barca. Which in essense means he can not probably do for us any more than SIlva and (hopefully) Nasri can do.

But as to whether he is better? Mate, of that there is no question!

Yonks ago TH gave a figure of spend by City this summer of 105.8m, we have spent around about 75m therefore if he was right(not doubting him) means another 30m to spend. Bert still seems to want a CM player or wide player so out of the names we have been linked with here are a few that might fall into that category with their respective positions.

Javi Martinez - 23 year old DM player (This may take some doing)
Claudia Marchesa - CM player who can play either flank (ala Bale type player)(trouble is just signed new contract)
Lavezzi - Striker / RW - could replcae a wantaway Tevez (Looks Inter bound)
Cerci - RW (Already rejected us)
De Rossi - DM (Might not leave)

If it is a defender - Cahill or Coates (looks Liverpool bound)
:O When?... And great :)

-- Wed Aug 24, 2011 7:01 pm --

We should buy Mats Hummels or Subotic. Subotic is left footed but smaller. Hummels is 6'3 and the best CB in Germany.
Nah Mate. They are both right footed. And no we can't buy either, coz Dortmund has no reason to want to sell. At least not this summer.

Diving, crippled, pigeon footed gimp.... Love to watch him cut inside onto his left foot but not in a skyblue shirt, thanks :P

do anyone think a late swap deal between Sneijder-Tevez makes sense of all parties? Mancini said he wants one more midfield, Sneijder seems fancies England, Tevez wants out and Inter wants to sign a big name to replace Eto'o.

Cant believe he wants another mid.. we have soo much already.....

someoen in defence sounds more practicable ...

Lescott/Kolo too shaky

Nasri and Silva will play up top as winger/strikers of the 4-3-3. To cover the 3 in midfield, we have NDJ, Barry, Milner and Yaya. That's not enough.

I dont think Nasri will play always in the front 3. I can see him doing that against bigger teams. But against smaller teams....i can see him in the midfield 3.

And.....Zabba can also play in the midfield. 1 more midfielder would be helpful, and im sure Mancini wants another one. But if Mancini doesn't get him, he should be fine.
