Is now the time to consider Mancini's tenure at the club

Exemplary record!! Ffs mate now I know you're on a wind up and DeMatteo?? Both were extremely lucky to win the champions league but couldn't win the bread and butter of the premier.
You're acting like a spoilt kid who's got to have the biggest toy in the shop.
Neither of them have or will win it again either. Ffs Chelsea are struggling In a weaker group than ours and Rafa fucked up at inter and has been out of work since.

I want him out. Mainly because he's got a track record of failure in Europe including now 2 woeful attempts with us. Forget Utd...Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool have fared much better in the CL even when not in contention to win the league, heck Chelsea won the thing despite finishing outside the top 4. That's just not good enough.

Exactly, even winning the league does n't take away the doubt because domestic form is not the issue, unless he sorts it out in Europe we can never progress, the fact that Grant and Di Matteo did what they did at Chelsea says it all really. I just feel Benitez could give us the step up without major alteration in terms of playing staff and financial cost, he is the man for the job for me, as I have said before his exemplary record in Europe and everything about him sells it for me, we may not dominate domestically but we may have a chance in Europe.

Do you honestly believe Grant and Di Matteo masterminded Chelsea's success in CL?
Does that suggest Mourinho was a failure with them?

It was clear that the Chelsea team were truly out of sorts with AVB (who was brought in to axe many players). Once AVB was out, there gained a new sense of optimism and fight, and all credit to them for battling it out to win CL.
We lacked spirit against Ajax, and I'm sorry to say, I would have to question the players on Weds far more than Mancini.

He's not a perfect manager, nobody is. But we KNOW City can play better than that. We know that team was a strong one.
Had Mancini fielded Rodwell, Sinclair, Balotelli etc we could have argued he'd been complacent. But he didn't.
Even playing Dzeko was what many fans were saying he deserved. Had he not done so, he'd be knocked for having his 'favourites'.

We've been unlucky with the groups AND not helped ourselves with some poor performances. Not a lot of that is down to Mancini. It's just not.

its not exactly rediculous.

Mancini has yet to convince many blues, hardly rocket science.

Yes he has won us the league, cup and charity shield, but considering the resources that should be a given.

His tactics are questionable

His plan B is to throw strikers on

His man mangement is very questionable

We have been outclassed in europe
All of the above are starting to weigh as much as his triumphs.

The jury is still out for me, and if fans 100% believe in him, fair enough, im not going to mock you, but please spare us the bullshit about how dare we question him

we seem to have regressed in 12 months in terms of playing style and squad personel

A don't recall a single fan saying we'd regressed when we won the league.

You MIGHT argue we've regressed over the summer.

I would counter that with 'sometimes, you have to take a step back to move two steps forwards' - which I'll stand by, Fergie's done it countless times selling top players and bringing in younger ones.

I'd agree we don't look as good at the moment as we did last season, but it's still early days, and other teams have strengthened considerably. More progress on their part than regression on ours.

Lets not kid ourselves, we DO have financial restrictions. We aren't earning what the other clubs earn. There's no escaping it. It'll take years to catch up with them, and that's only with sustained top 4 presence.

We've not been shown up in the CL, we've simply had it illustrated to us how tough it is, and that nothing less than 100% will do in the CL, it's ruthlessly uncompromising.
This time last season we looked a hell of a lot better than we do now.

Yes without players having been away for the Euros etc.. Fucking clueless mate, clueless

Did we ?

We are actually 2 points better off this season in the Premier league compared to the corresponding fixtures last year ie we have beaten both Fulham and the Baggies away this season ...... we only drew there last season when seemingly "Flying" !

Rafa spent £251.9m at Liverpool, net -£102.1m.

All that for 1 fortunate CL comeback(yes you can't take away that they did it), 1 FA Cup, a Super Cup and a Community Shield, his trophies cabinet was gathering dust from 2006-2010, and he failed at Inter miserably.

Mancini has spent £274.7m, net -£205.4m.

£22.8m more for a Premier League, and Benitez had 6 years crack at it? and had an established team that won the CL in his first season...tells me he actually didn't do that good a job.

Yes exemplary record, 2 CL finals in 3 years, prior to that a Uefa Cup win at Valencia, and even when clubs were in crisis he still does okay; got Inter out of the group and won the Club world Cup as well and took liverpool to a EL semi final where they went out to the eventual winners on away goals in extra time, he gets it right more often than he gets it absolutely wrong. I don't expect and guarantee Rafa Benitez to be the man that wins the CL, but I expect him to be the man to build a decent record in Europe, so that one day the platform for win will be there; whether it is him or another that eventually leads us there whether it is 5 or 10 years down the line. We will never progress in Europe under Mancini, he has proven this time and time again.
