Is This the end for De Jong?

But we won't necessarily get 5 goals against United and Chelsea. He might have prevented them from getting the free kick or the corner in the first place.

He is more likely to give away the free kick. You cant expect Spurs not to get corners at home whether he is playing or not.

We might not get 5 goals against United - who says we need to score 5 to win?

When De Jong is on the pitch we look less likely to concede, when he isnt on the pitch we look more likely to score. Good for last year, not needed this year, we have the players to make a out and out defensive midfielder unnecessary.

Cant think of any sucessful team with such a one dimensional player. Great job he has done but we have moved on.
I think you're wildly wrong!

Well thats obvious and its what football is about really.

But I sincerely doubt anyone would say De Jong is a better passer of the ball than Silva.

De Jong will get plenty of games this season dont worry

With him denying a contract and his association with Tevez' agent.

If the other players are on double what he's earning no wonder he wants comparity. Nige is one of the most important players in the team and theres no one better in the world in his position. We need to settle this quickly.

A: no he isn't.

And B: Busquets. Diarra. Mascherano. Cambiasso - all better players

Cambisso is 31 mate and those other players are not in de jongs league.

1-2 leagues above?

Barry has 1 good game and people think he's going to keep NDJ out. Laughable.

Not really - i dont think this is the result of one good Barry game, it is also the result of signing Nasri, and the result of some short comings from last season.

I think it is clear that Barry and De Jong shouldnt play together. I think most would agree that Yaya gets a start 9 times out of 10. NDJ could not have done the job that Barry did at White Hart Lane. All 4 midfielders were interchangable whereas if NDJ plays he is rigid and the other 3 can interchange - thats easier for the opponent to defend against but possibly harder for them to break us down. But last year when teams were struggling to break us down we were struggling to score. So do we want to not lose or do we want to win. Certain games we may well not want to lose. NDJ in

Most games however we have the talent to win - NDJ out.

Am I the only one who thinks he should play next to Kompany as a CB? That way we can look at moving Silva to the centre, and bring AJ in on wing. Yaya can fall back into a holding role... Or keep Silva and Nasri wide, bring Yaya up, and play either Barry or Milner as our deep midfielder.

Personally I think NDJ has the makings of a very good central defender, and I don't think he'll have lapses like Lescott does.

OK, I've said my bit, now you can flame me all you like...

im not a barry warrior but hes had more than 1 good game.

Look mate, play by the rules. NDJ is Man of the match every game he plays and Barry is crap ok. Learn that or support someone else. Oh and you dont understand football if you don't think like this.

And also NDJ is the best defensive midfielder in the world even though there are no direct comparisons of note.

Learn it.
