I think though people are just upset of the lack of quality signings we've made. Last season, we signed Garcia, Sinclair, Maicon, Nasty and Wright. 4 out of the 5 have been disappointing to say the least while our rivals alas Chelsea and Man Utd have signed players such as Hazard, Oscar , Kagawa and RVP. We should be improving at the rate of our rivals to maintain our success. Take Bayern for example, they won it all but they know that to maintain that success they need to sign world-class players and have done for example, Gotze. After last season, we get a marquee signing that can push us that extra bit more. Fernandinho is a very good player but there is no value for money signing a 28 year old for 30M with no competition especially considering some of the deals other clubs have got e.g. Gotze (30m), RVP (22M),Isco(22M),Hazard(30M).

This has nowt to do with ungratefulness or being pathetic. The fact is that our owners have decided to go toe to toe with the best and that means you can´t stand still for even one season. We did that last season and now were paying the price imho - and it´s only an opinion before any of you get on your high horses!!

We should have nailed Isco BEFORE U21 coz if he had said yes we should have had a pre- contract stiched up - btw this kid IS fookin good believe me - very poor from our new execs and not an auspicious start
I´m seriously hoping Pelli can get the absolute maximum from the existing squad. If he can we have a shot at the league

It doesnt matter how long we have been at it - in the last 12 months the squad has gone backwards! Fact.
And if we continue to sign aging players for silly money it will continue to do so.

Now you can keep shouting if you want but if Javi Garcia is your bag then good for you.

The squad didn't go backwards in terms of personnel. It went backwards because we had too many players underperforming consistently.. We haven't sold anyone other than Balotelli who wasn't contributing much anyway

With regards to Garcia, many thought he would be a good signing. And he's certainly not ageing, he's only 26. He struggled to handle the pace of the league.

The only ageing player we've signed is Fernandinho at 28. You were probably one of the fans screaming for Van Persie last summer who according to your thinking is also ageing

Well, thats just not correct is it.

For various reasons we have lost the likes of De'jong, Adam Johnson & Balotelli.
We have signed the likes of Scott Sinclair, Garcia and Maicon.
If you think there an improvement then thats your choice - i dont.

I was talking about fernadhinio. and im not saying he wont be good what I am saying is we have lowered our level of player when you look at who we are finding obtainable - and this is because we are no longer prepared to spend a little extra on the marquee players.
