I have no recollection of such rumour.

Was it discussed on Bluemoon?

Blink and you would have missed it.....

I also got word of a bid for De Rossi,i see no harm in revealing such info now.

Don't tell anyone else, but I heard there is a wealthy group of investors from Abu Dhabi that are considering purchasing the club, as well.

No chance. Swales will never sell up

If Madrid get Iturbe then someone has to leave.

I think one of Morata or Jese will go, possibly Morata, but he is a striker and if Madrid sell they will want to bring in a like for like and go and get themselves a striker no doubt.

The Madristas would raze the Bernabeu to the ground if Jese was sold.

I do think there's a chance someone's going to get a fun gamble in Morata this summer, but that hardly helps Isco find daylight in the starting eleven. That kid has to feel hard done by if the Iturbe business goes through.

He made his choice.

Jese is one heck of a player, rather we went for him than Isco to be honest (If we are to go for one). Jese is like a Ronaldo 2.0, easily spotted that he trained a lot with Ronaldo and adepted to his style of play.

If he adapted to his training regime (outside of normal, required training) he will be very, very good. Say what you want about Ronaldo—and I've said plenty—but I would say a large part of his success has come from him treating football has his calling in life and his main profession. All the other publicity and sponsorship comes from that. And he'll likely standout, as I worry this will be lacking in the next generation of footballers, more than in previous waves of talent.

I hope I am wrong, though.

For the first time in 75 years the Head of State in Spain will not be a Real Madrid supporter. Perhaps they will go back to being the average team they were before Franco played an active role in the rise and dominance. Stopping De Stefano signing for Barca springs to mind.

King Juan Carlos is set to abdicate following disastrous public relations gaffes and crashing opinion poll ratings. Added to the disastrous state of the Spanish economy, you get fertile ground for the rise of right wing, if not fascist, groups, similar to how it was before the rise of Franco. A military coup would be unlikely, but you never know, and if it did happen, then there would be more than a slight possibility of Real Madrid being used as a beacon for the new Spain.

And more so when the Catalans get independence and are then told by La Liga to eff off and start their own league.

A military coup would be very unlikely. Spain, while absolutely having fringe fascist groups, is much less unified as a system than other European countries. There have been shouts of dissolution for thirty years (basically since the constitution was ratified) but the bonds of the Cortes Generales, and our continued participation in the Eurozone, made that economically undesirable. That may change in the next few years as the EU weakens and the communities become stronger than the central government, but a widespread Fascist uprising is very unlikely. We have long members and the civil war still ways heavily on many families. Generally we would want to break apart into separate states, with trade agreements between. Catalonia and Basque Country have wanted this for some time. Aragon, where I am from, would likely become closer to France and Catalonia to sustain economic or cultural interchange. The Iberian peninsula would look very different, indeed, but nationalist tendency do not abound. The only reason they are even relatively stronger in comparison to the past is because of the National team's success. But that is less fascist and more unifying (and is still a weak force).

Anyway, this isn't the Cellar, so we should probably get back on topic.

Isco isn't coming. He had his chance and took a different path. Besides, we would need to sell one of Silva, Nasri, or Jovetic to accommodate him. Not to mention it would limit Lopes' potential playing time.

Franco didn't like football and was in fact a Atletico supporter at best when he did watch football.
Stopping Barcelona signing De Stefano had nothing to do with liking Real Madrid more his pure and utter hatred for Catalans

Franco used Real as a means to demonstrate the strength of his regime. You are right, he did not like football itself, but he was fond of what he could accomplish with it (specifically, attempts at cultural hegemony).

But again, this is the Isco (City Transfers) thread so let's stay on topic.
