Silva's going to be playing at this level for another half decade imo. Possibly beyond. He's such a remarkable player.

Everyone on here loves saying "Player X can play at this level for Y more years" without anything to back up their statement.

If you look at attacking midfielders you will find pretty much no one who is the same player at 34 that he was at 29.

Bollocks! Merlin has the ability and the way he can anticipate things is always a step ahead. Got at least 4 years left at the very top.

Who says they have to remain attacking midfielders? Great players adapt. You underestimate that.

Exactly, I could see Silva in the role Pirlo excelled in at Euro 2012 as a deep lying playmaker. Silva plays most of the game in his head anyway and that won't have deteriorated in his 30s.

I think, more than any other player since the takeover, he genuinely loves the club.

Probably finds the weather a bit testing at times, but genuinely loves the experience of living in an environment that is totally alien from where he was raised, and being a winner. I think he will look back upon this period of his life with more fondness than any other. He's been on an incredible ride in the last five years. It's a lot to give up.

Pirlo 1st played as a deep lying playmaker he was 21 years old. Silva is 29 and has played as an attacking midfielder/ winger/ false 9 his entire life. I'm not saying Silva can't adapt but he would have to adapt very quickly to a position he has never played before.

Also, a big reason Pirlo has been so successful in a deep role despite his age and limited mobility is at Juve and the 2012 Euros Pirlo has been protected by midfielders that work very hard and are good defensively which aren't terms used to describe the City midfield.

He wasn't even on the bench today, hopefully Ancelotti will keep him out of the squad more and make him available in the market. :)

Probably because he was suspended mate.

Damn ! I thought he was out because James is back.

Don Balón claims Isco is on his way out of Real Madrid as he feels betrayed by Ancelotti and his colleagues preferring James over him.

Get rid of Nasri and sign this guy ,, that would be good business IMO .... we still need a quality winger with pace though .... Walcott or Stirling would do it ... I think if Bale goes it;ll be silly money to the rags
