It hasn't upset me as much as I thought I would

I am disappointed, of course, but it would have felt much worse had we lost out on a league title in the last couple of games. I guess that's because I prefer to win the league. As a supporter of a club that challenges for all honours, I expect we will lose out at times, including losing in a final. It comes with the territory. C'est la vie.
 
It’s a glorified Carabou cup, better opponents in it but it’s a cup competition, Chelsea finished 19 points behind us lost an FA Cup to Leicester and lost to Villa last weekend but suddenly winning this competition makes you the best in Europe does it fuck. If it was done in a league format we would be top and pissed it, I’ve never bought into it and never will. If we win it great it’s a trophy we’ve never won I’m pissed off at losing any final CL, Carabou even if City were in a tiddlywinks final and lost I’d be pissed off, but don’t for a second think this competition means more to me than winning stuff at home.

I couldn't sleep last nite running the whole game in my head! I am devastated and couldn't get it out of bed. I can't believe how much football can do to you! It killed me last nite and I am still down

I am avoiding my phone, instagram, youtube and all cause I don't want to see what could have been us lifting that damn trophy only if Pep went with the natural formation!

Why couldn't he just keep it simple!!! How many times do we need to lose before we get it that keeping it simple works!!!

I don't think I will recover from this for a while! I hate football for loving it too much! I hate City for loving City too much!!! CTID
 
Disappointed as much by the performance as the result, but it’s been a highly successful season and we’ll win that one eventually. Maybe it’s better to do it for the first time in a normal season rather than one with all the weirdness and empty grounds. And last season Liverpool won the league, got nowhere in any of the cups and were hailed as the greatest team in the history of the world. I think we’re doing OK. Bring on next season after a stress-free couple of months.

Those kids of insults generally come from those who think winning trophies is the be all and end all. The very worst type of fan. In my experience, they are the kind of people who don't go to games. They think the club they chose is a reflection on them and that their 'support' makes them out to be superior. Honestly, why would you even listen to idiots like that. I find them quite sad and pathetic.

That would not be the scouse reaction at all. Scousers would tell everyone they are the victims (cheated out of it, bad luck for them, lucky opposition, had less rest etc..). A long list of excuses. They also come up with some nonsensical deflection, occasionally expressed as a poem. I have not come across that on the forum.

A few here will be indifferent. For a number of years, a fair number of posters have stated that they don't like the competition, and not just when we lose.
