Yet again and it happen in a few games this tournament. England started well than the other manager made tactical changes to his side. Southgate didnt have a clue how to counter those change in tactics.

For what over 60 minutes the two Italians centre halfs were on yellow. Did Southgate change England tactics and go at those two ? No !. Thinking about it southgate did make changes England went to Hoofball tactics.

You cant sit back and defend for 70 odd minutes than another 30, you dont deserve to win playing anti football.

When you look at the playing time Englands attackers had its s disgrace, all the young lads fighting for one spot. The right wing , apart from the first 20 minutes yesterday when Sterling started on the right !!.
Now why didnt southgate starting Sterling on the right and Foden on the left in the first two games ? Foden on the left where he has played alot for us.

Why didnt southgate put Grealish on the left, Sterling thought the middle and Sancho on the right and get them to run at them. Remember both were on yellow. I bet the two Italian centre halfs could believe England weren't targeting them !

This group of English players are going to be wasted under southgate. Southgate is clueless, boring , championship standard manager.

So pleased for Mancini he is a top top manager.
Spot on...We will win nothing with Southgate and his negative tactics..all our match winners on the bench until it's too late

Best team won. Not just the best team on the night, but the best team from the very first match.

We stung Italy with an early goal and they looked punch-drunk for the entire first half. Mancini made some great tactical changes and substitutions when he managed us, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he was able to spot what needed doing and make it happen. Mancini out-managed Southgate last night and the choice of penalty-takers was mind boggling.

Both England and Italy had soft groups, yet whilst the Italians were racking up the goals, we dropped points against the mighty Scotland. Good performance to beat Germany, but then we had a soft run to the final whilst Italy beat Belgium, then a fast-improving Spain.

We could have won last night, but it was clear who deserved it more.

And the racist abuse starts on social media. The cunts who do that want locking up for a long time.

As for the Pens, it was pretty obvious from the subs that the 5 had been decided before the game, Southgate of all people will have been prepared for that happening and it would have talked about and planned for.

Fair play to the lads who stepped up, Southgate confirmed it was his decision and none of us will ever know or even experience pressure like that. They will learn from it.

All in all though, it has been a disappointing tournament, it has lacked quality in my opinion. Of course there are factors behind that. It is ludicrous to hold a tournament across so many countries in such a short time, covid had an impact and it lacked real star quality.

Italy were just about the best team and in comparison to past Italy sides they are not a vintage Italian team,

As for England it probably came two years too early, Southgate did pretty well and is hard to criticise because he got the team to the final and only lost it narrowly, he has to find a way of getting the best players on the pitch, which isnt easy.

From a City point of view, our lads did pretty well, were a credit to the club and now need a rest, we have a title to defend, so the likes of Walker (who was superb) Stones, Sterling and Foden have to pick themselves up and get back to the job that pays their wages.

It really was just shit tactics from Southgate after the early goal. We needed to get at them and kill the fucking game off which we would've been capable of, but we sit back and invite Italy back in to the game and they start to dominate. Our back four were excellent all tournament but as an attacking force we were poor. A better manager would have a field day with this squad

All those saying we should have not had “cold” players taking penalties would have been asking for fresh players to take them if Sterling and Stones had missed them after 120 minutes.

Lots of Captain Hindsighters about today.

Strange that Southgate didn't just sub Rashford on for Sterling, considering Sterling wasn't even down to take a pen.

A poor quality tournament but deservedly won by the best side in the competition
