Well I do hope the "hunter becoming the hunted" thing isn't referring to Fernando Gago who the Italian media are linking us with again. Roma refuse to pay Real Madrid more than £3million for him and it's said we could pounce and get him for under £5million. Don't think he's the Real Madrid player any of us would want most. :)

Mind you that would be a good price for Gago but it'd be at the expense of a great midfield signing probably as I can't see us buying more than one.

I wonder what wages he is currently on at Real? If he is on less than £4,000,000 a year he could be finally joining us, as another poster mentioned in the minor movments thread that we have signed someone on £78,000 p/w.

Gerard Pique? a big central defender who has big club and PL experience... he'd be a nice add but he doesn't exactly set my pulse racing. (although his ladyfriend does a bit...)

I don't think Barca will be selling Pique as they are looking to bring in a defender not sell one.

I was thinking that also, everyone saying we need a CB as competition and Kompany/Lescott/Pique looks good to me. If we go to a 3-5-2 against park the bus teams and allow Pique to get forward might be useful.

Can't think of any other La Liga BIG names we seem to have a thread on that are achievable, discounting the like of Messi, Tranny, Xavi, Iniesta etc.

Seems to be a lot of objections on the Pique thread though :-)

i pay no mind to the objections (or praise) on BM... i put my faith in Bobby, his coaches and scouts. if he (they) want a player, then so do i.

Some of the top players being "scoffed at" I cant believe how spoilt many of us have become in the short space of time.
Think how far we have come!
