It's too quiet!! I hope that signing iniesta, Mesi and Ronaldo would atleast save our face in this transfer window!! ;)

Latest rumour in line is Agger, 13m. More recently, Cazorla. If any of this is true, I say at least we got our transfer target direction right.

Always said Agger is the CB we should get from Liverpool, hope that one is true.

It'd allow Kompany to rest more at the start of the season. If he is carrying one injury it could lead to another. To let him rest we need more quality in defense. Ic prefer done young wonder kid with homegrown credentials but Agger would be fantastic if we can only find experience.

Plus it allows Savic to Ho on loan - you can almost see the fear in his face grow as the season nears. He needs to gain confidence elsewhere in England/Scotland.

-- Mon Jul 30, 2012 7:31 am --

It'd allow Kompany to rest more at the start of the season. This is why it's infuriating reading "We already have the best CB pairing in the league. We don't need anyone else. Why would you break up that partnership? Why does everyone want to get rid of Lescott? Why am I still a virgin?" yadda yadda. We need good combinations in CD. Anything other than Kompany and Lescott seems to be poor, and anything without Kompany isn't just a series of accidents waiting to happen, they're already happening.

I'm one of the diminishing few who believe Savic could actually come good, but he's at least a year away from having any meaningful contribution to our season that isn't conceding goals. It's a bit shit but thems the breaks with youth. Agger would be a high class CD well up to speed with the league, perfect for Europe, perfect for our system and most importantly likely attainable. He's a better CB now than Martinez too and at this stage of our development I'd put priority on that considering he's still only 27.

If you don't understand why we don't need another CB in our squad than I dispair. Savic may come good, but as yet he isn't upto premier league level and needs a loan out. Our lack of strengh in depth at CB cost is a league and cup double last season.

Cost us in the League Cup semi against Liverpool.

Did you read his post ?

I think we need cover as Lescott has always had a few injuries & we were quite lucky with that last season.

Savic is 21, so you would expect to have seen some kind of ability by now, if he had any. He looks totally out of his depth in friendly games.

Not sure Agger is a good enough defender for City. Nice footballer but I prefer defenders who do their job.

Well an abysmal team performance put us in big trouble before the 2nd leg but Savic was awful at Anfield.
