It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Reported when Spurs and Chelsea were interested early in the window.

And @Mr-Mertle

Just fyi, the only link I had previously seen had 43m. I have no idea what is or isn't the asking price or how far away a guess is, just pointing out what was in my mind when responding and where the difference comes from.

I get it, but that release clause wouldn't be active this summer anyway so it solves nothing.

Ah. Thank God for that. We did it Blues. Another off season nearly completed. Friendlies start a week on Wednesday then its community shield & off we go again. Will be good to get back to watching games rather than half of us on here killing each other.

I don't think it will happen but I don't see the problem in bringing in a top centre half to replace Ake if he leaves.
May mean that either laporte or stones drops to 4th choice and wants out next summer but so be it. That's the way to improve a squad. Let them go and bring in another top centre half and repeat.

City will probably use 3 at the back more often next season too. It won’t be hard to convince a top cb to come in. City have Pep and the top level team that anyone would love to play for.

Example, Pau, Spanish, would probably love to play under Pep and with his national team partner, Laporte.

Only reason I would say no to Kounde as an Ake replacement is that he can be a bit of a hot head.

Why would we use three at the back more next season? We've had Pep for how many years now and he's shown basically no interest in doing so.

Is Ake going at all? If so, either Konde or Josko would be good, that' for sure!
I geniunely hope not as he is still a valuable squad player for us. The only problem is according to the Times Chelsea are in advanced talks.

You're probably correct about Jack.
I am not totally against bringing an extra player however we still have 3 quality players at CB and there isn't a desperate need for a replacement. The problem is convincing a player with real quality to join us this season.

Pep is convinced we don't need to replace Sterling for the left and Zinchenko should fill the requirement for him and the left back rotation.

Hope the lad trusts Pep :)
Happy if we get Cucurella for Zinch to be back up.

Dont agree on the need to replace Sterling with Jesus also leaving as well: Mahrez, Palmer, Grealish. all very similar players (with differing levels of quality)...Bernardo and Foden also very similar
