One of the aspects I have grown to love about our club is succession planning.
My wish list would be Reece James and Jude Bellingham with more Academy players breaking through.
Long term successor to KDB is a conundrum.

He doesn’t play in the position we’re looking to fill, is completely untested in the PL, and will cost about the same as the player we’re actually targeting.

And lazio would not sell him for that fee yet you believe stuff like that in the media yet also believe city will pay £60m flat for Phillips?

I see this all the time on here and Twitter. Some people tend to have selective belief when reading anything about football. They jump on clear bullshit articles and quote it as gospel, especially if it’s a negative in their eyes, some love a moan.

it really doesn’t matter what the fee is, City sort that out and if they believe a player is worth £25m or £65m I personally don’t care and don’t understand why anyone else would. So many obsess over it, it’s frankly weird.

He might be a better player in the position he actually plays in. Frankly we’ve got no idea whether he’s better as a pure DM, because that’s not his role at either club or country.

Why on earth you think the club would be stupid enough to risk trying to fill a key position in the team with a player who is completely untested in that position - and additionally has never played in this league before - is beyond me.

There really isn’t a lot of point debating this one with you.

Thankfully the club won’t be taking your advice, so we don’t have to worry about it either way.

how do you know?

Haaland has proven himself in the CL so it's clear he has pedigree. Lazio have been in the CL once since he's been there. You can't even look at him internationally because Serbia are rarely involved in the big knockout games.

Buying an unproven player at the top level with no experience in the PL and playing him in a position which isn't his best to do a job is not complicated it's just a 'stupid argument'.

Maybe pep just wants players from the Prem that can come in and be already comfortable with the league. Haaland the exception as he’s a world world class player. It’s why I think if Bernardo some how left this window if Barca got the cash and could change his mind. i would take a guess that his replacement would be in the premier league.
