It's coming

That’s long for Kev. Just use this season as experience for the academy , throw Mcatee in midfield see if he can replicate what he did at Sheffield but at a higher level . Then see what the market is like next summer.

Pep will need the club to be brave though mate and at this point in the transfer window go out of their comfort zone if required? Say we could get Wirtz for £75-85m would they do it?
Wirtz would be my choice as well but a deal like that aint happening in 2 weeks unless they have already laid the ground work and kept it very very quiet (I highly doubt that)

I feel like some people were almost hoping that Pep would be angry with the club at his press conference today, but I don’t think they’ve been paying attention. Everything is done with his involvement. He knows why certain deals don’t happen. If he starts criticising publicly, that’s the time to worry. Until then, trust the process.

What do you expect the club to say tho? With only 2 weeks left before the window closes?

No point throwing money around. We lost a few good players and the market has been tough to find replacements.

Deep breath and let’s go with what we have until Jan.
I expect the club to not bullshit. The reason we don't have replacements is because we failed at finding them. Don't try to sell it to me that actually the squad is good and we have a ton of great options. If we did you wouldn't be frantically searching for a replacement.

A lot to take in from that Pep presser... He was certainly feeling some sort of way, aye?

I hope the club isn't not spending because they care so much about Pep's net spend.

Who said we’re “frantically searching” for a replacement?

You don't think the midfielder hunt this summer from Bellingham, to keeping gundo, to rice, to paqueta suggests we really aren't happy with our options in midfield? I would classify that as at least somewhat frantic. Which is fine, there's nothing wrong with that. But when it's all said and done I just don't wanna hear "Actually, we planned to go with what we have all along!"

They got mullered at our place. Absolutely blitzed. They barely laid a glove on us, home and away.
It was a brilliant game of football. We we're certainly the better side at The Etihad and could have scored 5 or 6.

Having said that, Bayern had numerous opportunities and also could have scored a couple against us. I thought they were really good and played some seriously good football especially getting our if our press numerous times.

Easily the best team that came to The Etihad last season by a country mile.

The same Bernardo who was Player of the Season the last time he directly filled in for a long term Kev injury? Seemed to have won the Prem that season too.
Yes that one. We play in a different system now and if we don't sign players we will regret it.

Literally don’t think I’ve seen anyone claim that “we planned to go with what we have all along”? Happy to be proved wrong though, of course.

That wasn’t the question I asked anyway. You seem to be making a series of strawmen arguments here.

Not really. We replaced Gundogan with Kovacic.

We wanted to buy Bellingham as a long term project. He turned us down. It happens.

We didn’t really want Rice, but might have taken him had he wanted to come here. He didn’t. It happens.

KDB then gets injured for 4 months and things then take a more intense turn.

Paqueta was next. Negotiations on a fee were underway. West Ham stalled a bit and in the meantime, we find out Paqueta is a spot fixer, potentially, and walk away.

We weren’t ready for that bombshell.

We’ll still have names on our list. There’s time left and Txiki and Pep don’t tend to panic.

Trust the process.
