Kovacic will be a rodri back up, phil will be the right wing bernie replacement ,if gundo goes kev will drop deeper , alvarez/phil will play behind big erl , gvardiol will replace laporte ,attacking left midfielder and thats your lot.

unless bellingham comes,then him and gundo will be the cm, no Kovacic and gundo will be rodri back up.

Pep would know far better than me but I didn’t see anything in Phillips game yesterday to see him being a starter in our side… I know he looks low on confidence but he just doesn’t make himself available to receive the ball in all situations as Rodri does…

Rodri is the best in the world so you can't compare, all we need is a fit half decent player who will get better under Pep & can fill in giving Rodri the rest he needs

We have been very very fortunate this year, Rodri has played loads without getting injured & the main reason we have won the league again hes simply outstanding in front of our back 3 or 4

Phillips is a good lad he needs time & minutes & to learn under the master
Don't write him off hes not played, it's difficult having an international player sitting on the bench week in week out
If we sign Kovacic then Phillips has asked to move on otherwise he comes back & works really hard in the Summer?
Remember, Rodri 1st 16 months was bang average then he got fitter, lost more weight & become the player he is today through shear hardwork, listening & wanting to be the best
This takes time for some players but don't write him off, I agree he needs to show more especially after he moves the ball on but he has ability

Because he’s dogshit and we are running Rodri into the ground because he cant be trusted to play/come on.

Not having the “take a season to get up to speed” stuff either. He hasnt played at all, Pep doesnt think he’s up to it, it’s not him getting used to the system.

Our hit rate on transfers is fantastic but a dud always sneaks through once in a while, move him on chalk it up to experience.

So now we need to work out who was going to be our Gundogan replacement, as presumably we no longer need to make that signing? Unless they think we were one player short anyway and will press on regardless. Basically, I’m trying to work out if we still want a couple of midfielders minimum, or if we might now just pick one.
